"'G'night po, Mommy and Daddy." Hailey Nicole Lucas Yvasco murmured as she lay on her bed, hugging that pink Baby Shark plushie that's her size.
"Good night, baby." Sky kissed his daughter's raven hair after opening the night light that projects stars at the ceiling and walls.
"Sleep well, Ate." Sage also kissed Hailey's head and tucked her with a duvet to keep her warm.
The couple watched their two-and-a-half-year-old daughter close her amber eyes and fall into slumber.
Hailey was not alone in that room, as other kids were already asleep. Right on the bunk bed were Sancho's twins, Eusuke and Eugene. While sleeping peacefully in a crib was another cousin, one-year-old Gianna Rose. The twins love their cousins Hailey and Gianna like sisters, and the girls look up to the twins like their big brothers.
As soon as their daughter was sound asleep, Sky and Sage quietly left the children's room and walked back to the party hand-in-hand.
"Siguro naman pwede nang uminom, Love?" Sky joked at his wife. "Tutal, dito rin naman tayo matutulog tonight dahil bilin na rin ng parents mo."
"Parents natin, Love." Sage smiled at her husband. "But yes, pwede na. Basta hinay-hinay ka lang sa booze ha? Ang bigat mo pa naman kapag kinakaladkad ng lasing. I cannot carry heavy stuff, and I cannot have alcoholic drinks. You know that."
"Duly noted, Mrs. Yvasco." He smiled as he splayed out his fingers over her slightly bulging tummy. "Kailan ba natin malalaman ang gender nitong baby number two natin?"
"Excited ka masyado ha?" She giggled. "I'm scheduled to have an ultrasound after the holidays. If you can't wait for the gender reveal party, edi sige alamin na natin on my appointment."
Sky gave her another wicked grin. "Pwede naman kasing alamin kaagad sa appointment mo, and then reveal the gender to everyone at a later time. Basta hindi tayo maingay. I won't tell anyone, I promise!"
"Well, kung yan talaga ang gusto mo, then let's have it your way, Mr. Yvasco."
Oops! Ang larawang ito ay hindi sumusunod sa aming mga alituntunin sa nilalaman. Upang magpatuloy sa pag-publish, subukan itong alisin o mag-upload ng bago.
They smiled at each other again before he crouched down.
"Baby..." He murmured against his wife's belly. "If you happen to be a girl, sana maging best friends din kayo ni Ate Hailey mo ha? Just like your mommy and your titas."
His words made her smile. Alam kasi ni Sage na gusto ni Sky na magkaroon ng dalawang anak na babae o higit pa dahil siya mismo ay walang kapatid na babae. He also mentioned that he finds the bond of the Lucas sisters amazing, even after the rough times they went through. That's another reason why he wanted to have daughters of his own. Now that he and Sage already have one, they're hoping to have another daughter as Sage is in the second trimester of her pregnancy.
"Eh paano kung... lalake pala itong dinadala ko?" Sage teased her husband.
He smiled at her mischievously. "Okay lang, bubuo na lang tayo ng basketball team, like five boys!"
