Illness fast-spread across both students and teachers that month. Some kind of stomach bug, it was called. Suspiciously however, it consisted more or less of only a rush of nausea, rashes and dizziness.
Lestari stood strong. Half the school had been knocked out. To say there were no others in charms on Monday was an understatement. Six pupils showed up.
"You know they aren't talking to him anymore." Twyla snorted quietly from their usual spot to the far side of the classroom. Her voice was low enough so that it was out of range from the students left in class, plus the Professor, who'd been napping at his desk for the past twenty minutes.
"What? Did something happen?" She spun to her friend.
Twyla grinned, she had much gossip to give the girl, "Dolohov was caught snogging Lucretia Black in a broom closet."
Lestari turned to her, only having noticed her face scrunched up once she felt the need to release her cheeks, "I do not understand why people bother with the business of the upper years."
"All Dolohov's friends are in the year below, he's a bit of an outcast."
"Really? Because I heard he's a freak, and from what you're telling me, you're only confirming it." Lestari snickered, her attention fleeting from Twyla's giddiness quickly.
"He's not a freak!" Her smile stopped fully, and she squeaked in shock.
"Are you okay, Ty? You aren't actually interested in him or anything, are you?" Lestari teased her haughtily, leaning back in her chair.
"Interested in who?" Avery swung back on his stool to join the pair at their desk.
Lestari leaned forward again in shock, as Twyla became a stuttering mess. Out of all the students present, it had to be the subject of their conversation's friend to potentially overhear, "Well, I— it's really... You don't—,"
"Don't worry, Otieno. I don't actually care." He patted the desk with a small smirk, before turning to Lestari, who began to scowl at him, "Can you meet me after class?"
