At the end of June, Hot shot and his family were back at the doctors. "I have good news," Dr. Seala said. "Hot shot's cancer is in complete remission no sign of it any where in the body or at the amputation sight," she said. "Hot shot beat cancer," she said.
Hot shot and his parents were so very happy to hear this. This was the best news ever.
On July 6th Hot shot received his last chemotherapy. Hot shot got ring the bell as he saw his friends do before him. Hot shot was very happy about this.
Then on July 8th Hot shot received his wish he got a dalmatian puppy. "Fireplug is your name," Hot shot said.
Hot shot and Fireplug bonded very quickly. During that time Hot shot learned to use his running blade. Now Hot shot was able to run and play with his new puppy.
Hot shot was also able to go to school too for the first time. Hot shot was even happier to see his four best friends were in the same class as him.
Hot shot was also very happy as the year began to end because his hair was starting to grow back.
Hot shot was still getting check ups from Dr. Seala.
The years began to pass by quickly. Hot shot was growing into a fine young man. He hasn't had a reoccurrence of cancer. Hot shot was very happy about that. He was happy to be able to go to school with his best friends and make new friends.
Hot shot got new prosthetic legs as he grew. Hot shot kept his old prosthetic legs it was a great way to show how much he has grown over the years. It was truly amazing to see to say the least.
Hot shot was soon off to college. Hot shot was learning to become a pediatric oncologist like his mother. Hot shot was very proud of himself. He was great student. Hot shot went a hospital to practice medicine a new doctor. Hot shot was learning well.
Then a few years later Hot shot was now a full fledged doctor with a wife. Hot shot moved back to Fort Worth and started to work at Cook Children's hospital. The same hospital that saved his life when he was a kid. Hot shot was happy to see his old friends working there too.
They were all doing well. Hot shot was able to show the kids he was treating he had been through the same journey they are going through. If he could beat cancer so could they. That made the kids he treated feel very inspired.
But Hot shot would never forget his own cancer journey.
