Delyth stood at the entrance of the grand space, surrounded by wealthy and entitled individuals. Her silk dress, snug and pristine, highlighting her curves and elegant figure. With her hair styled in a high ponytail plait, she radiated an ethereal beauty. The room's lighting seemed to spotlight her, drawing many eyes. Holding a champagne glass, she felt a bit uneasy with the attention fixed on her.

"Del!'"

Grateful for the distraction, she turned around, her blue eyes locking onto the smug face of Coriolanus Snow. He strolled through the hall, accompanied by Clemensia Dovecoat, clinging to his arm with a prideful expression. He was well aware of his strong chance of winning the Plinth prize. Delyth felt a twinge of bother, but she maintained a charming smile on her face nonetheless.

"Coryo, Clemmie! You both look amazing" she stated, although silently hoping this conversation would be over so she can sit down and get this ceremony over with.

"Says you! Have you ever had a bad hair day Del? You seriously look gorgeous" Clemensia enthused, her tight pony tail swaying with the slightest movement of her head. Delyth giggled slightly at this, her cheeks turning a pretty shade of pink.

She reminded Coriolanus of a pretty swan, she was so elegant and beautiful.

Coriolanus observed in silence as the two girls exchanged compliments, a smirk playing on his lips. His eyes roamed over Delyth's form. It wasn't a secret that Coriolanus had been drawn to the Bardott girl for some time, much like many boys in their class. Her charming personality and elegant manners made her very popular amongst the boys in her class. Despite the numerous advances, Delyth remained oblivious, consumed by her hectic schedule and the pressure of upholding her family's reputation.

Coriolanus knew how Delyth was treated by her family, he was aware of her compliance and ease of control. This drew him in; he sought a woman who would listen without disagreement, someone to boost his sense of power. Delyth seemed to fit that role perfectly.

Before he'd noticed, Clemensia had wondered off to chat to other folk, this left him and Delyth stood in front of each other in a silence as the rest of the conversation in the room got louder, the girl looking up at him with her doe eyes, Coryo thought she looked ravishing.

"Tigris outdid herself, you look great Coryo" she stated innocently, she gave him a quick wink while she took a sip of her champagne, grimacing after.

How do people drink this?

Snow saw this and let out a small laugh, she was cute.

"I don't even know why I bother Del, you see right through me every time" he rolled his eyes playfully.

"One of my many talents Coryo" Delyth was one of the few who new about the Snow's financial situation, being good friends with Tigris and visiting their home on many occasions, it was no surprise to the girl when she saw the cheap material of his buttons.

He offered his arm, and she gracefully looped her hand around it as they navigated through the crowd. Delyth couldn't help but notice Arachne's displeasure as they neared the group, giving an eye roll to the girl in response to Arachne's clearly sarcastic smile.

Delyth held a strong dislike for the Crane girl. Their differing perspectives on humanity and Arachne's outspoken, selfish demeanor created a substantial rift between them.

"Finally the star pupil, along side.. Delyth, what a nice surprise" her words held a bitterness to them as her eyes glared there way over both Coryo and Delyth.

"Nice to see you, Arachne. You look gorgeous," she opted for kindness instead of retaliation. She had learned that responding with grace made her opponent appear bitter for no reason, while she came across as unbothered. Offering smiles to both Festus and Felix, she acknowledged the boys, though she couldn't shake the underlying sentiment about the gathering of rich, entitled individuals.

Arachne gave her a rolled her eyes as they trailed over to her next victim as she stared at Coryo's top.

"That's a snazzy shirt, what are those buttons?
Tesserae?" She spat.

"Hm, that's why they remind me of the maid's bathroom" Snow replied nonchalantly as Delyth slightly smirked at his remark.

"Only the vulgar eat with their fingers Felix, Daddy not teach you table manners?" Festus spoke in annoyance, as if watching Felix eat with his fingers was agonising for him.

"Maybe he would, if he wasn't so busy running the country" Felix quickly shut down his comment as Delyth rolled her eyes, taking note of the superiority complex Felix held.

Delyth saw Lysistrata join the group as she gave her an enthusiastic smile, Lyssie was one of the few people Delyth could actually stand and would consider a friend.

Delyth had no interest in their conversation and zoned out for a short while as she continued to drink her drink that she disliked, she only came back to her sense as sejanus' large frame appeared beside her.

"Sejanus, you made it to the reaping for once!" Festus exclaimed. Delyth was well aware of Sejanus's vocal disdain for the Games, an opinion that made him unpopular among his peers. While she admired his courage and shared many of his views, she kept her agreement more discreet, well aware of the potential consequences of being outspoken in their circle.

"And you made it to graduation Festus we're both shocked" Sejanus fired back, a sly smirk blossomed on his face, clearly proud of his comeback, as Delyth had to turn her head to conceal her giggle.

"Spill it. Who won the prize?" Arachne spat, her red lips poised into a straight line as her head titled up towards him.

"Oh, no. I'm not going to ruin my father's big day. Of course, no one here actually likes him but they sure do like his money.. you know what that's like don't you Arachne?" He spoke with a hint of humour in his tone, a few of the group snickered at his comment as Arachne stared at him with disgust as the bell went off signalling people began to disperse to their seats.

"funny".
