The following day, Delyth struggled to eat her breakfast. Sejanus, who hadn't been around much the previous night after the arena incident, saw her in the morning and wished her luck, but their interactions were limited.

As students stream into the academy for day 2, Delyth senses a reassuring pat on her back – Lyssie. A sad smile passes between them, both aware of Jessup's apparent illness and the slim chances of his victory, her care is evident for the boy.

Before any words are exchanged, Festus strides over with unwavering confidence, his high-held chin signaling his firm belief in Coral's impending triumph.

Lucky's voice cuts through the student and audience chatter, announcing, "Something happened while you were all asleep." Her heart sinks, she was told the cameras were frozen. The uncertainty of whether they knew what unfolded last night gnaws at her.

"Bobbin! District 8 - meticulously slain," Lucky declares, and the camera focuses on Bobbin's lifeless form near the turnstiles. Delyth averts her gaze, unwilling to confront the stark reality of his death.

Beside her, Coryo's presence is felt, their eyes locking. Delyth's questioning gaze silently wonders if this tragedy occurred after they left the arena, leaving her unsure about the timeline of events.

Lucky's brief announcement about the boy's death leaves Delyth in shock, expecting more details. Breaking her thoughts, Lyssie remarks, "They're not telling us what happened to that young boy." Delyth nods in confusion, grappling with the uncertainty.

"He died right on camera, they're not showing us something," Lyssie asserts, prompting Delyth to glance at Coryo. If it were one of Coral's pack, they would revel in showcasing it, yet the footage is conspicuously absent.

Coryo senses her alarmed expression, as if she's unraveling the truth. He subtly shakes his head, cautioning her against saying anything.

As she heads toward her seat, thoughts of Coryo's involvement in the young boy's death weigh heavily on her mind. The absence of any mention from him or Sejanus the previous night adds to the mystery, leaving her preoccupied with unanswered questions.

Day 2 was missing minimal activity or notable events so far. The broadcast flickered between all the tributes, Wovey scanning the hallways alone until I seemed to settle on Lucy Gray and Jessup once more, Lucy Gray extended a gesture of offering water to Jessup, only to be met with an unexpected reaction. He recoiled, pushing her hand away, prompting Lucy Gray to observe with concern.
