ON CHRISTMAS EVE, while my family enjoyed dinner out, I preferred to stay home. Wrapped in blankets with a gingerbread candle flickering beside me, I got ready for a night of Christmas movies and ice cream. Just as I got comfortable, the doorbell rang, revealing Robin, my friend since first grade, with a gift in his hand.
After welcoming him in from the cold, I asked "What are you doing here?" "I wanted to give you something." He replied with a shrug "Shouldn't you wait until tomorrow?" I questioned. "I couldn't wait" he admitted. By the fire, he handed me the present. "I didn't get you anything; I'm sorry." I confessed. "I don't want anything" he insisted with a reassuring smile.
Smiling, I unwrapped the gift, revealing a gorgeous ring. "Oh my god, Robin, this is beautiful" I smiled. He smiled as I admired it. "I wanted to get you something nice" he explained. Gratefully, I hugged him tightly, and after slipping on the ring, i looked at him with a small smile.
He suddenly looked nervous, looking away and taking a deep breath
"You could give me one gift" he suggested "Like what?" I frowned. His smile turned into a smirk as he leaned in closer. "Can I?" he asked, stopping and hovering over my lips. Blushing, I nodded. His hand gripped my cheek as his lips pressed against mine, and his hands hugged my waist.
