Harry really tried to get back on (Y/N)'s good side. But she was not as forgiving as he would've hoped.
He'd sent her updates about her case and she only responded with a thumbs up or once even a k and that absolutely killed him inside. He still asked her if she was alright getting out of work, trying to keep things normal, despite what happened the other night. And it was almost like she was doing it on purpose.
She'd respond an hour after he sent the message and say, yes, she made it home and sorry, she just saw his message. He knows way better than that, but he really can't be too upset about it.
There hasn't been much correspondence between him and (Y/N) since that day at her apartment when he completely fucked everything up. To be honest, he panicked. But that didn't mean he didn't want to kiss her. He really, really wanted to. It's just that he knows she's going through a lot and he doesn't want to add to anything. And he knows that even if no one knew that they kissed, it still wouldn't sit quite right with him. He wants to do this as cleanly as possible. Plus, he really is unsure about what the rules are with lawyer to client relationships at the firm and he doesn't want to ask and give himself away anyway. So, for now, even though he is positive that he upset (Y/N), this is how things have to be.
Harry is pretty sure if he tried to kiss (Y/N) and she said we shouldn't, he would've been a little embarrassed and upset about it too. But the fact that he likes her so much, he wouldn't have been able to stay away. So, perhaps she doesn't like him as much as he thought she did. If she can ignore him so easily.
But Harry is also the most understanding person in the world, he has to be, so he gets it if she just needs a little time to herself. And he knows that she probably doesn't know what to do. Adam has never treated her the way she deserves, so she knows nothing outside of what he's done to her. And that alone makes him sick. Because he's nothing like him and he's sure that she knows that by now.
He'll hold on till the end though. Because he's never been so enamored with someone like he is with (Y/N). He's never had the time to spend time with someone romantically, but now that he's met (Y/N), he's making all the time he can for her.
So when he texted her, telling her he'd see her tomorrow for their first meeting at the courthouse and she responded with a thumbs up, he didn't take it personally. And if it takes a little bit more time for (Y/N) to warm up to him again, fine. However she wants to go about, he will. But he's not going to let her slip away just because she's not talking to him at the moment. Absolutely not. It just means waiting a little longer than he planned. And Harry can wait.

Harry can tell (Y/N) is completely stressed out.
They're in their first court meeting and seeing Adam again really didn't do anything good for her. She was practically shaking in her seat and wouldn't even look in his general direction.
Harry's fucking pissed. Seeing this guy in person made his blood boil. And the way (Y/N) reacted to him made him smug. And that pissed Harry off even more. He wanted to take the extra ten steps over to his side of the room and throttle him, but he doubts that would go over well.
So, he only says what's necessary for him to win the case. He does take that time to make smart, little jabs at Adam. He's so dense he doesn't even realize it.
(Y/N)'s been awfully quiet too. Only speaking when she absolutely has to. He understands and he doesn't blame her at all. This is a lot and Adam's own snide remarks about her are probably doing nothing to settle her. Harry tries to give him a dirty look whenever he decides to glance in their direction.
