𝗜𝗧 𝗛𝗔𝗗 𝗕𝗘𝗘𝗡 three weeks, nine days, and two hours since shidou had to leave for a game in spain.
it wasn't odd for him to be gone for long—why was she so affected by his absence?
the reason was christmas.
everyone knows holidays are only fun when with those you love—and y/n had people that loved her, but not in the same way shidou did.
she stared up at the ceiling in discontent, counting hours and days since her beloved boyfriend had left.
"where is that son of a bitch." she huffed.
she had been expecting a call from shidou since it was christmas eve, however no call was received.
thoughts flooded her mind of doubt—'has he forgotten about me?' or 'does he miss me?'
as she aimlessly stared at the ceiling brewing in doubt, her phone rang from the kitchen island.
she bolted to the small device, her hidden excitement and hope leaking through her monotonous exterior.
as she checked her phone, her previous energy had deluded into disappointment and dissatisfaction as the phone read 'mikage reo'.
"what 'dya want reo?" she answered blankly, pulling out a stool from under the island counter.
"i'm hosting a christmas party tomorrow n/n—wanna come?" mikage asked, y/n on speaker as he and nagi played mario cart.
"nah." she answered dryly, pulling out a box of f/s.
"what's wrong n/n? you sound depressed." nagi questioned in the same monotonous tone.
they had a sort of connection where they knew if their counterpart was depressed—mikage liked to call it 'twin telepathy'.
"ryu hasn't called me for christmas yet." she said as she usually did. to nagi however, her voice held a twinge of sadness.
"i'm sure he will eventually, but please come to the party n/n. it'll be so boring without you there." nagi pouted, practically begging his twin to come to the event.
"fine. i'll come to the stupid party. you better have good music reo."

"please turn off your wifi, fasten your seatbelts until the yellow seat belt sign deactivates, and enjoy the ride. thank you for choosing japan airlines!"
shidou sighed, exhaustion taking over his limbs as he sat down in the small plane chair.
he normally rode business class, but he forgot in his rush to buy a plane ticket.
i guess he just loves y/n that much.
enough to buy a plane ticket on impulse so he could see her last minute.
he got many odd stares, but he didn't care. what he really cared about was the h/c girl he was planning to surprise at a certain party on christmas day.
