it was a late august night, reo's annual auction running to raise money for some foundation.
it didn't really matter the event, what did to her was the bar.
the same bar that she met the first person she loved.
"you look pretty lonely." he has said to her those years ago, a glass of whiskey in his hand.
god, how she missed those cerise and amaranth eyes that she got lost in.
she really did try to love sae, and he loved her more than she deserved—but it didn't feel right. like a portion of her heart would always belong to him.
as the seasons changed, so did circumstance. and as circumstance changed, so did reo's guest list.
that's why she didn't expect to see the dual haired male sitting on that same barstool from two years ago.
"you look pretty lonely," he said again, he eyes widening.

the pair silently walked along the beach, the waves crashing against the sandy shore. it wasn't long before shidou paused.
"...i know you probably don't care anymore, but you've always been the brightest star in my sky...losing you was like losing the sun, i can't live."
he took a sharp inhale, "i love you—i always will. i'll always be here, waiting for you."
what was less than a minute felt like eons. time seemed to pass infinitely between the two. missed chances—lost opportunities—unfound words that couldn't be communicated through the vestiges of time.
y/n turned to look at him, the sparks flying between their gazes like electricity that could light up the night sky.
"...what would you say if i gave this another shot-?" she said, her words barely over the crashing waves.
"i'd love you like never before," he said, his cat-like eyes dilating simply from looking at her. he walked closer.
"you better make good on that promise," she said before their lips sealed together.
