"Just like how the breeze kisses your rosy cheeks

the soft grass feels beneath your beautiful feet,

it's soft fur touched and licked what's mine

limbs shattered, tongue severed

I gave it a beautiful design"

This was the text that Isadora received at 1pm during the afternoon, when she was washing dishes at the local restaurant. Her heart was thumping wildly in her chest and she started panicking. Who would send such a sinister text to someone?

Isadora : Who r u?

Unknown: You didn't like my poetry? I put in alot of effort for you, beautiful.

Isadora: You are terrible at it.

She rushed to the police station, all while being extremely paranoid and on the edge. Her mind was filled with thousands of questions. Who was it? How did this stranger know her? Why would they kill her dog? But sadly she didn't have any answers to these questions.

At one point in your life, you would stop asking  questions you'd fear the answers to.

"We have no evidence to prove that's him, after all it would just be a kid from Tendorlin High. Had a few cases where it was just a prank call"

That is what the police had told her. The police, no pun intended was useless as ever. She couldn't think of a time when they were actually helpful and reached on time somewhere. With that she headed home feeling defeated. She knew she had to take the matter in her own hands now.

As she was heading towards home, she heard someone call her out.

"Excuse me Miss, You dropped your notebook, it fell out of your bag". His voice was so deep just like the gravel and he was very tall about 6'3. He had  bronze hair and honey tan skin. His complexion made him stand out of the crowd as Tendorlin was mostly filled with white people along with a small majority of blacks, but what really made him stand out of the crowd was his unusual eyes. One eye was forest green while the other one had shades of blue and hazel at the centre. Isadora wasn't really into guys much, she had dated a guy named Scott once who later on who had broken up with Isa as she seemed "too boring" for him. However, she thought that he was the most handsome man she'd ever met. He lowkey seemed familiar to her as well.

"Oh, I'm sorry it must have slipped out of my bag." replied Isa.

"That's okay, just watch out for yourself." replied the stranger.

"I think I've seen you around here, Do I know you?" asked Isa

"you must have seen me in the Tendorlin Daily, I was the valedictorian last year"

"Ah! So you must be Gabriel Storm, my friend Nicole talked about how you took her place as the valedictorian last year. She graduated with you."

"I remember Nicole very well, she was that girl who'd dye her hair every other month right? God, she was the most competitive person I had seen."

"Yup, Nicole was obsessed with dying her hair and yes she was really very competitive, always nagged to me when someone or other scored better than her. She was good at heart though. Still is."

"I'd like to think so, anyway I'm running late. I run the carwash place down the street with my cousin. See you around."

"Bye, Gabriel."

With that Isa and Gabriel parted ways, and she wondered if she would see  him again. His unusual eyes had caught her attention in more ways than one. With that, she headed home with the strange text lingering at the back of her head.

She decided that she was going to carry a pocket knife with her everywhere. She already carried a pepper spray, knife was another thing she was going to carry. You never know what happens in Tendorlin.

Expecting good things in life is eerie; it has a mysterious way of guiding you toward a darker version of yourself.
