Chapter 17: "Argue Argue Argue"

OHANA (緒花)

As I expecting, Seth's Blastoise has been defeated. They were lying on the floor, fainted.

"... ... ..." I put my fan forward and then to the left, and then above me, and to under my hips, I hold both ends of my closed fan, and then she bowed.

Seth has stopped playing his instrument and returned his Blastoise in its Poke Ball.

"Congratulations," Seth said while walking towards me. "Here's your Earth Badge," he added.

I accept the badge with my both hands and said...

"ありがとうございます (Arigatou gozaimasu)" And I bowed once again.

"What?" Seth said.

"I mean...thank you very much," I said. I forgot that he is not Japanese.

Mayuki and I are in the Viridian Forest, Mayuki was sitting on the ground while I was praying on a shrine. I told Mayuki to buy me a minute to pray.

After several seconds, I'm done praying. I went to Mayuki.

"Done," I said.

"行くぞ！(Ikuzo!)" Mayuki said.

As we were walking deep in the Viridian Forest, Mayuki speaks and asked me about something.

"緒花姉ちゃん? (Ohana Nee-chan?)"

"ね？(Ne?)" I said.

"質問があります (Shitsumon ga arimasu)"

"何？(Nani?)" I asked.

"About your battle with Seth yesterday, something was strange," Mayuki said.

"What strange?" I asked.

"About your Charizard knows a water type move," she said.

"And what about it?" I asked.

"What do yoou mean? Charizard was a fire type, how could it learn a water type move?" She asked.

"Did you mean Sallah's Aqua Tail? What about it??"

"What about it? How is it possible? A fire type can learn a water type move? That's impossible!" Mayuki said.

"The only fire type pokemon that can learn water type moves is Volcanion, which wass a fire and water type," she added.

"As well as Sallah," I said.

"Huh?" Mayuki contradicted.

"Well, the thing is..." I raised my right index finger. "Charizard has a tail, so it's possible," I conntradicted back.

"But it's a fire type!" Mayuki said.

"And it has a tail," I contradict.

"Huh?" Mayuki said. "The tail itself can't determine that your Charizard can do Aqua Tail!" She contradicted. "Just because the Pokemon had a specific body part, that doesn't mean that they can do that specific move," she added.

"But you witnessed Sallah using Aqua Tail right?" I said. "Then that's the proof itself that a Pokemon can learn an impossible move," I added.

"But how?" Mayuki said. "It's a fire type!" She added.

"But Sallah has a tail," I said.

"But it's a fire type! And fire types are weak to water type, so how?"

"It has a tail."

"It doesn't make sense!" Mayuki said.

Mayuki took a deep breath first before started talking. I can see from her face that she was frustrated seeing my Sallah using a water type move.

"Tell me something," She added. "Are you cheating?" Mayuki asked.

"Cheating?" I asked back.

"I've been hearing rumors about Pokemon are getting programmed to learn impossible moves," Mayuki explained.

"Like for example, Pidgey using Earthquake, can you believe that!?" Mayuki said.

"Pidgey learning Earthquake? That's impossible!" I said.

"See? That's what I'm talking about!" Mayuki crossed her arms.

"I would believe if that's a Pidgeot, considering that it's big enough to make an earthquake," she added.

"Mayuki, what's wrong?" I asked. I'm concerned about her arguments with me.

"You seem making it such a big deal," I added.

"Because I fought that Pidgey!" She answered. "It's so unfair, that day when I was fighting that trainer for a bet, he cheated! He was using a Pidgey that knows impossible moves such as Earthquake, and at worst, that Pidgey also knows fighting type moves. Which was a big disadvantage for my Eevee," she added. And she started to cry.

"And the other worst thing is that, the audience who was watching our battle praised that trainer saying that how amazing that his Pidgey can learn those moves," she continued talking.

"Even that they know about the rumors of Pokemon getting programmed to learn impossible moves!" And then the kneel down, mourning.

"... ... ..." I fell silent as I was looking at her, listening to what she was saying.

"Look Mayuki," I pat her head. "To make you feel better, I didn't cheat. It's just...I unlocked Sallah's hidden moves."

"Hidden Moves?" Mayuki sobs.

I nodded.

"That is why Sallah can do some impossible moves," I said.
