Chapter 21: "Pewter City Gym, Where?"

OHANA (緒花)

"!!! !!! !!!" I got surprised as I saw a shiny Magikarp was on my fishing rod's hook.

"... ... ..." I silently took a Poke Ball from my pocket and throws it at Magikarp.

As the Magikarp got contained from the Poke Ball I threw, it falls to my hands.

The light from the Poke Ball's button turned off.

"Hey! No fair! I weaken my Pokemon first and uses three Poke Balls before I completely catch it, and you caught yours in just one attempt without weakening it? Not cool!" Mayuki pouted as she points at me.

"Anyways, what kind of Pokemon did you catch?" She went near at me.

Wait! She didn't know what I just caught?

"Uhm..." I said while my eye pupils are moving left to right back and forth.

"What?" Her eyes are sparkling.

"Uhm... uhh..." I couldn't say it.

"何? 何? 何? (Nani? Nani? Nani?)" She gets close as she says nani.

"ああんのおお。。。(Aannooo...)" I said while stuttering.

The reason I couldn't say it is that not because she might get jealous that I just got a Shiny Pokemon, but because I was hungry and want to eat Magikarp badly. She might gonna tease me and force me to eat the Pokemon thar I just caught.

"I didn't," I said and hides the Pokemon in my pocket. "I didn't caught a Pokemon," I said.

"Ehh?" Mayuki said. "But I saw you threw a Poke Ball earlier," she added.

"Does that mean that you caught something right?" She also added.

"Uhm...no, I was just practicing throwing a ball in case that there is a a Pokemon in the hook," I pointed at the the fishing rod that I just used earlier.

"Okay, but where is the fishing rod?" She crossed her arms.

"Wait what!?" I immediately looked at the fishing that I just pointed at earlier.

It was being stolen by a Pokemon pulling from the hook.

"Oh no! Sallah quick! Go chase that Pokemon!" I commanded.

"!!!" Sallah stopped from meditating and chase the Pokemon who stole Mayuki's fishing rod.

In the end, I successfully achieved on eating a Magikarp to satisfy my hunger after fishing. Yes it was another Magikarp that Sallah was caught earlier but it was just an ordinary this time. The question is, did Mayuki ate Magikatp as well? Well, no. She still felt disgusted from the day she ate my onigiri filled with Magikarp.

Three days later...

We are now at Pewter City, actually...we're already here two days ago, Mayuki and I rented a house that will last for five days.

"どこに行くの? 又練習ですか? (Dokoni ikuno? Mata renshu desuka?)" Mayuki asked while cooking our breakfast.

"はい！(Hai!)" I said and about to get out of the house but Mayuki quickly blocked my path at the door.

"Oh no no no no! You better eat first! You always skipping breakfast! It's not good for you Ohana Nee-chan!!" Mayuki pouted.

We are now at the kitchen and about to eat our food.

"いただきます！(Itadakimasu!)" We said and started eating.

After a few seconds of silence, chewing, gulping, and swallowing, Mayuki started to talk.

"So...the Gym Leader still unavailable?" She asked.

"... ... ..." I nodded while chewing my food.

"Oh that's sad," she said. "We shouldn't have rented a house, our days are wasted here," she added.

"ね (Ne)," I said.

After several minutes, I'm done with my food and went outside for some training.

But before I go to Viridian Forest for another training, I went to the Pewter Gym first to check if the Gym Leader is available.

Sadly, it's still not available. The note that was attached to the door is still there saying...

"Temporarily Closed..."

"Haven't you heard the news lass?"

I turned my head where the sound coming from. It's just a local resident who spoke to me. It looks like a man in his 50s.

I pointed myself to tell if I was the one he was talking to.

"Yes you," said the person. "All the Gym Leaders in Kanto are absent until further notice," he added.

"Why?" I asked.

"They've been dealing with an evil organization who just invaded the Cianwood City," the person said.

"Evil organization? Invade the Cianwood City? Why?" I asked again.

"Who knows," the person said. "The police couldn't handle them without the help of powerful trainers, the evil organization itself are powerful Pokemon Trainers."
