Chapter 20: "Golden Catch"

OHANA (緒花)

"Wait what!?"

"Eww!!" Mayuki said and spit out some saliva from her mouth and then scratches her tongue with her nails.

"Eww! Eww! Eww! Eww!!" Mayuki keeps scratching her tongue.

"Stop overreacting, you really liked that onigiri you ate the other day," I said.

"In fact, I can recall your reaction when you ate my Magikarp filled onigiri at that time," I added.

"うっせえ！(Ussee!)" Mayuki said and stops scratching her tongue.

We suddenly fell silent as we saw Mayuki's fishing rod is moving. Which means, there's a Pokemon on the hook.

"You're mine!" Mayuki pulled her fishing rod.

"いい！いい！(Ihh! Ihh!) Hoping it's a Magikarp!" I said while being excited as well as drooling.

"No!" Mayuki said while pulling. "Anything but Magikarp!" She added while still pulling.

After a second Mayuki successfully pulled her fishing rod. To a surprise, she pulled one of the rarest Water Type Pokemon.

"A Feebas?" I said.

"ええ? (Ehh?)" Mayuki said.

"Hey! That would be a perfect fish for this meal's onigiri!!" I said while funnily drooling.

"No!" Mayuki said and snatched the Feebas away.

Feebas jumped from Mayuki's arms and falls to the ground.

"I'm gonna catch it!" Mayuki said and prepared a Poke Ball from her hand.

"Aughh..." I sighed.

"Eevee quick! Use Quick Attack!"

Mayuki's Eevee suddenly stopped playing with Kinai and attacked Feebas with full force.

"Eevee!!" Mayuki's Eevee successfully attacked Feebas.

"Now go! Poke Ball!" Mayuki throws a Poke Ball to Feebas which it hits.

The Poke Ball where Feebas was contained falls to the ground.

It shakes at first which it always happen when a Pokemon was being caught inside the Poke Ball. After a few shakes, it came out from the ball and flops on the ground.

"Ahh! Dang it! I got you this time!" Mayuki throws another Poke Ball.

"Why don't you weaken it more?" I asked.

"Oh yeah, that's what I thought," Mayuki said and scratched her head.

As expected, Feebas broke free from the Poke Ball.

"Eevee! Again! Quick Attack!!" Mayuki commands.

"Eevee!"

Mayuki's Eevee has successfully attacked Feebas once again.

"You're not gonna escape this time!" Mayuki throws her third Poke Ball at Feebas.

Feebas got caught, but it's not over yet. The Poke Ball suddenly shakes as it falls on the ground.

"... ... ..." Me and Mayuki are staring at the Poke Ball.

The Poke Ball is stil shaking.

"お願い、お願い、お願い。。。(Onegai, onegai, onegai...)" Mayuki said while her hands are in a praying position.

After few more shakes, the Poke Ball stops from moving which it signs that Feebas was successfully caught.

"やあああったああ！！(Yaaattaa!!)" Mayuki took the ball and jumps around.

Her Eevee jumps around as well.

"Wow, what a nice synchronization," I said. I was talking about Mayuki and her Eevee jumping at the same time, they're very synchronized.

Blub-blub! Blub-blb-blb-blub!

Wait! What's that sound.

Blub-blb-blb-blb-blub!

That sound...I think I just heard that recently.

Blub-blub-blub!

That's right! It was the sound of Mayuki's fishing rod when there was a Pokemon on the hook.

Speaking of fishing rod---oh no! I think that was mine!

"!!! !!! !!!" I reacted fast enough to turn away and pull my fishing rod with full force. As I was expecting that the Pokemon on my fishing rod's hook was strong enough to pull back, the end of the fishing rod's rope flies up which the Pokemon on the hook has surfaced the water.

At first I couldn't see the Pokemon because it flashes into my eyes. The Pokemon was too bright to see. After a second of flash, the Pokemon reveals.

And to my surprise...it's a Shiny Magikarp.
