A Fool - One

Hi!
It has been a while since we last met, and here I am with a new fiction that I had written while resting and catching up with life. This fiction was meant to be a one-shot but while I was writing it, I ended up giving it more detail and more scenes which exceeded what I would call a one-shot fiction. 😅 So, as of now, it seems that this supposed one-shot would have about 14 parts. I thought why not make it a short fiction instead? And since it's Christmas, why not give everyone a gift, right? This story will be updated every Monday, one part each week. Right now I only have the last two chapters to write so don't worry that I won't finish it.

A kingdom tends to have, whether prosperous or poor, encountered war that ignited for revolution or power and sometimes of a man that wanted revenge. Just like how right now, under the blood moon of the starless sky, the palace of Leaf is filled with screams of fear and the roar of soldiers from two different nations. One, from the kingdom of Leaf, and the other, from the land of the queen of Leaf, the land of the Whirlpool. This was a war that the queen had wished to prevent and he had, for almost one year but it was unavoidable in the end since the war had begun. This bloodbath will leave his people in a bad situation since they will or have endangered the soldiers of the Leaf.

                      As the queen of Leaf, he had wanted both his and his husband's kingdom to be in federation; it was why he had taken the title of the queen, aside from a few other selfish intentions. He had wished to save both of them he loves with his life and the people of the kingdom and the land. However, it seems, his time to protect them has run out, and now he has to face the consequences of reality.

"No! Consort Haruno! H-help!" The voice of the court lady who takes care of the consort of the king of Leaf shrieks after the one she should protect with her life is snatched by the soldier. She couldn't do anything but cry since as a court lady, she did not know the way to protect themselves from the sword and bow of the soldiers.

"Tch! How did they get to her?!" The upset yet concerned question escaped the one who holds the highest position in the back palace. And the mother of this kingdom of Leaf. His blue eyes which looked weary yet determined shifted between the soldiers who he was battling and the consort who he had to save even if he was to lose his life. That someone who should be away from this battlefield yet now struggling in the grasp of an enemy's hand. Then again, the enemy who is of his land had started the war from the back palace. He guessed that His Majesty might be somewhere around here too since... He wondered why they weren't together as it should be.

'Did grandfather already have His Majesty?' The thought scared him as it was the last thing he wanted to happen. Desperation getting the best of him, and he had no choice but to be determined to save as many as he could, he aimed his sword seriously at the people of the land he left which he had been having mercy on, as were they.

"Save your life or die. I have no choice if you insist on harming the lives I have to save!"

"Leader Jiraiya has told us to bring her to him no matter what." The soldier that met eyes in eyes with the grandson of their leader said the truth. If he and the others could choose, they did not want to fight this battle with the one they have played since childhood. However, since they were betrayed first, the right thing to do was seize the opportunity they were given. They want to, once and for all, end this nasty kingdom of Leaf that had taken the life of their family who couldn't fight for themselves before. If this unjust could be solved by seizing that one consort that holds the heart of the king then it was only right to end her!

"Stay away, Queen Uzumaki! It is for your own good!"

                     The way the other addressed him shows that they did not accept the king of the kingdom Leaf as his husband. Even though they are married, it seems his grandfather made sure they were separated, by that reference alone.
