Yo, how does this story feel so far? I have to say that this story is one I am proud to present. It had been a while since I felt that. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I do. 😊

One of the residences existing along the tall mountain in the middle of the forest is the residence of the leader of the land of Whirlpool. Jiraiya who came back from the sea was happy to be welcomed by the one he had been waiting for. Though he had to wait, his grandson still came back in the end. And right now, they are having a discussion after they had dinner, and what he heard only made his brows twitch in anger.

"Grandfather Jiraiya, I think the best way to end this is to write an apology letter to the kingdom of Leaf." Naruto suggested because, if the war was to be brought to their land which is seemingly small in size and lacks the strength in the military, there is only loss and loss. His grandfather's revenge was only to kill the king but when the soldiers from the kingdom of Leaf come, everyone in this land won't be safe.

"Please think of the women and kids under your protection."

"... I don't think there is a necessity." Leader Jiraiya wasn't going to bow down to the descendants of the arrogant late king and the generals. He has his grandson back and if war was to happen, he would take it head-on as he has nothing to lose anymore.

"If war was to arrive at our door, then everyone would be ready. They are all waiting to have their revenge."

"But! ... Grandfather, this revenge won't help any of them. What if they have their revenge, what would change?!" Naruto didn't want this tale of revenge to continue for generations. How many innocents would have to be sacrificed before they realize nothing changed aside from people dying?

"I don't need to hear this from you, Naruto!" Leader Jiraiya was angered by his grandson still thinking in the favor of the one he left. What is wrong with him wanting to teach those arrogant generals the consequences of their wrongdoing? They should know what it feels like to be wronged!

"Now that you are back, I will keep my promise not to touch him. However, if he is the one who walks this land, I won't hold back! Now, you can go back to your residence."

"..." Naruto bites the wall of his cheek as it didn't go as he had wished. Then again, he should be relieved that his grandfather kept his word on not endangering the king. Now he just prays that the king won't step his feet on the soil of this land, for everybody's sake.

"Then, don't stay up late."

'You left your position as our guarantee, if he loved you even a little, he won't touch the people you are protecting, you fool.' Leader Jiraiya thought after watching his grandson leave the tea chamber that they occupied to discuss the war that might happen.

"Still, I might need to double the guards at the port."

When the person waiting for the one who returned home after so long hears the footsteps of someone approaching, he turns around and walks toward the one he has been waiting for.

"Lord Naruto," He greets the one looking at him questioning, maybe because he didn't expect his visit. Then he showed the other the two bottles of liquor he brought with him.

"It has been a long time since we enjoyed this together."

"You knew what I needed, Shikamaru." Naruto said to his comrade and welcomed the other in by gesturing him toward the parlor. If he has some company, he might be able to reduce his anxiety.

The two comrades drank the liquor while studying each other in silence, one was thinking if he should ask the reason for the other's return, and another one was thinking if he should tell his concern.
