Chapter 42 - The Stolen Shot

Sorry if I couldn't elaborate much of the places in Baguio. I haven't been there so I had to do research on some of the tourist attractions in Baguio. Ang hirap! Bakit kasi dun pumunta si Vice?! Joke. Haha. Eto na po!

Chapter 42 – The Stolen Shot

I was pushing the cart when I heard a familiar voice.

"Kuya Vice?" I swore I knew that voice but I wasn't sure whether I should look back.

"Kuya Vice!" I heard him call my name again. I looked back and I was right.

"Nico? Hey!" he ran to me and hugged me. He has gotten a lot taller since the last time I saw him. That was six months ago.

"How are you? Laki mo na ah!" I patted his head.

"Okay lang po! Nagba-basketball po kasi ako kasama si ate!" he said proudly. I felt my heart ache a little when he said "ate". I should probably leave.

"Nico? Halika ka na." I heard someone said from behind. Parang biglang bumagal ang pagtibok ng puso ko.

"Si Ate!" Nico said smiling. Before he could say another word, Vice walked out, leaving the little boy.

Nagtago si Vice at palihim na sinilip si Nico. Nakita nya ang babae na papalapit kay Nico, naka-bun ito at naka-suot ng denim shirt and black leggings. Bumilis na naman ang pag-tibok ng puso ni Vice.

Karylle knelt down para magkasing level siya ni Nico.

"Diba sabi ko sayo wag kang hihiwalay sakin? Sino yung kausap mo kanina?"

"Si Kuya Vice po!" he answered. Karylle's eyes widened. Vice? He's here?

"He's here, Ate!" he said happily. Karylle just shook her head and stood up and grabbed his hand.

"Let's go." Naglakad na sila palayo at habang naglalakad, lumingon sa likod si Karylle, checking whether there was a sign of Vice. What is he doing here in Baguio? Dito ba siya nags-stay?

Kakatapos lang mag-dinner ng mga Viceral. Habang naghuhugas ng pinggan si Vice, bigla naman may nagsalita sa likuran nya.

"Okay ka lang ba? Medyo tahimik ka kanina e. What's wrong?" tanong ng kapatid na nasa kitchen counter.

"Okay lang ako, Ate. May iniisip lang." he answered. Finished with the dishes, he wiped his hands on the towel.

"What are you thinking about?" his sister asked. Vice sighed. He really needed someone to talk to; he couldn't get her off her mind since he saw her earlier.

"Mahabang kwento, Ate. Si Nanay?" He asked and made his way to the living room.

"She's reading her magazine. I have time. Tell me." He insisted and followed him to the couch.

Kinuwento naman ni Vice ang nangyari. Nagulat ang kapatid dahil hindi nya alam na nagka-girlfriend pala ito. Sa pagkaka-alam ng kapatid, high school pa si Vice nung huling nagka-girlfriend.

"Whoa, so you saw her today. Your ex." Emma said, still in shocked.

"Yup." Vice nodded.

"So anong ginawa mo? Did you talk to her?"
