"Shut it, mutt." He said as he pulled me up to my feet, his hands on my waist so I would fall.

I didn't say anything. He rubbed his thumbs on my waist for a few seconds; this weirdo was putting some sexual tension between us and I didn't know if I enjoyed it is not.

"Okay, we get it. You don't have a girlfriend." I laughed.

"My whole family is dead." His voice serious and cold.

"Yea, well, mine too." I said

It was silent for a few seconds, the only sound being the fabric of his glove thumbs rubbing against my waist.

He picked me up and he started to walk out of the safehouse. Once we were out, we laughed softly at our seriousness in the building and started our way to base once more.

"You know, we have a lot more in common then you think." I commented, laying in his arms as he walked on the snow.

"Yea? What's something we have in common besides our families?" He asked, still chuckling slightly.

"We both enjoy each other's company" I stated.

He looked down at me as he walked. "You enjoy my company?"

"Do you enjoy mine?" I asked.

"Okay, fine. Two things in common." He laughed me off lightheartedly.

"Simon?" I said.

"Yeah?" His eyes glancing up to see his surroundings.

"Why are you acting.. like this all of a sudden?" I asked with pure confusion.

He paused, not saying anything for a few seconds but kept walking.

"It just feels right." He tried to explain. "It feels right to help you when you can't walk right."

"I told you, I can walk Simon." I exclaimed.

"And I told you I can carry you." He tried to persuade me.

"Okay.. so, that explains carrying me, but what about me sleeping in your arms, you changing me and my bandage, and rubbing my waist?" I demanded him to tell me what was going on between us.

He didn't say anything and kept his eyes up front. I don't know if it was because he was embarrassed to say or because he didn't know, but I knew something was up.

"I don't want you to do this to me if your taking it as a joke." I whispered as my tone started to soften.

"I'm not taking it as a joke to care about you in a mission, solider." He said, looking down at me for a few seconds before looking back up.

After a couple minutes of him walking, we made it to base, I was surprised it took this long but it looked the same as usually. Cargo trucks were coming in once and awhile and we were in the middle of no where. Sounds just like home.
