Our arrival to the Dingo was a lucky one, since minutes after Dallas and I took a booth by the window, people started to flood into the diner. When the waitress came to our table, Dally ordered a burger, fries, and a coke while I opted for a chocolate milkshake.
"Doll face, I thought we talked about this. We're splitting the food." Dally intently gazed at me.
"Oh no, we didn't agree on this. Be glad I'm even ordering a milkshake. Do you know how many calories one of those has? Bleh!" I shuddered.
After that remark, Dally went quiet. He just seemed flabbergasted, or hurt I think? Before I never really did care about food. Of course until my mother made some remark about my legs looking too pudgy and in the same day some boys in a mustang screamed 'sit your fat ass on my lap' and more and more screaming centred around my big thighs from my mother, and viola. Starvation station here we are. I started realizing how long I could go without food. And when I did, the scale provoked my habits. So now I dropped maybe ten to fifteen pounds, twenty on some days. Shortly following was my fear of fatty foods. And oh was I scared when the waitress came with our food.
"A milkshake for the lady and here are your burger and fries, can I snag anything else for you folks?" The waitress, named Sheila according to her name tag asked us.
"Yeah actually, could you get us a slice of cherry pie please and thank you?" Dally spoke up with a charming grin.
"Coming right up!" Sheila grinned right back, she was probably the sweetest lady honestly.
"That pie is for you by the way." Dally added before biting into his big hearty burger.
"Oh Dal, that's your money, and I told you I didn't want to eat." I frowned as I sipped on my milkshake.
"I know. Here have some fries." He handed me a handful of French fries beaming from ear to ear.
"I think I'll only have a couple, thank you." I lightly laughed as I took two fries from his hand.
I dipped one in my thick chocolate milkshake and took a bite. This was a habit that I picked up from god knows where, and had been doing it since the beginning of time.
"Aw gross, why would you mix sweet and salty like that?" Dally cringed in fake disgust and chuckled slightly.
I scooped up a glob of my milkshake with my remaining French fry and while Dally was off guard, I stubbed the fry on the tip of his nose. He just looked at me and slowly started to smile. He then took one of his fries and did the same to me, making me turn all giddy and join him in his wild grinning world.
"Aww you got my milkshake all over my nose!" I sarcastically pouted.
Before I could grab a napkin to wipe my nose, Dally leaned over and kissed the tip of my nose.
"Not anymore you don't." He devilishly smirked at me.
"Ok then, your turn." I slyly whispered.
Except I didn't kiss his nose, I kissed his lips. His soft, pink lips that felt like pure against mine.
"Whoops. I missed sorry, Dally." I bit my lip and beamed.
Dally had his cheeks turning a pinkish red, boy was he flustered. I just kissed Dallas Winston and now he's blushing. What have I gotten myself into? I pondered stiffly.
"Oh baby, I was supposed to call the shots here. Tsk tsk tsk." Dally magnetically grinned as he clicked his tongue.
We were so caught up in the bold move I had made that we barely noticed a big slice of cherry pie being set down on the table.
"Oh thank you, Sheila." I beamed at the middle aged woman who gleamed with warmth right back at me.
"Enjoy you two." She kindly added before taking another tables order.
The pie looked rich and the dark red cherry filling oozed out slightly, and the flakey crust was a light golden color. I really wanted to have some, but indulging if front of Dally was simply out of the question. But how could I get out of this? I pondered silently.
"Eat it." Dally growled. "I know what you're thinking, but you're going to eat this pie. You'll kill your self if you don't eat."
I knew that I could not win an argument with him so I unwillingly took a fork that was presented on the napkin beside me, and dug into the tip of the pie. I then scraped the fork against the plate as I scooped the barely bite-sized portion up and nearly to my lips. I gave Dally a 'do I really have to?' scowl to which his cold stare gave me my answer. When I placed the fork into my mouth, Dally had a prideful gleam to his once cold face now wiped out with his satisfactory triumph.
"How is it, sweetheart?" He leaned back in his seat and smiled.
I smiled right back "Delicious." I mumbled with a full mouth.
It had felt so enriching to have that one bite of cherry pie. After I ate at a more fast paced rate, not caring about what Dallas thought or anyone else in the diner. I was halfway done the pie, when I realized Dally hadn't tried the pie yet, and me being the 'nice' gal I was offered him a bite.
"Dally I swear this pie is so darn good, you have to have some." I pointed the fork towards his mouth with a chunk of the pie on it.
"Nah sweetheart, that's your pie. I may be a hood, but ain't that bad."
I cocked an eyebrow at him and continued to insist. "Yeah Dal, it's my pie and I'm sharing it with you. Now just have one bite, please?"
He looked at me with a flirty twinkle in his eyes as he leaned and took the fork into his mouth, unblinking. He nodded his head in approval and with a full mouth agreed with my statement.
When I was finally done wolfing down my food of the day, Dally threw down a wad of bills (including a pricey tip for Sheila). I had felt so happy, maybe from the pie? Or it could be my body having actual fuel to run on. As Dally and I strutted towards the direction of the Curtis house, I felt so hyper I started to attempt doing cartwheels. I hadn't done them in a while so I only did about two until I landed on by butt. That earned me a deep cackle from Dally as he hoisted me of the ground and let me dust myself off.
"Please please please don't mention this to anyone that was so embarrassing!" I pleaded with Dally when we continued walking.
"Eh I don't know, I might just let Soda or Two-Bit in on your little stunt." He shrugged trying to conceal his smile.
"Dal, if you do that I'll tell everybody about the 'baby cakes' incident." I playfully suggested.
"Oh no you won't!" He finally revealed his toothy grin and picked me up by the waist and threw me over his shoulder like a sac of potatoes.
"Dallas Tucker Winston, put me down!" I giggled as he began running towards the Curtis'.
"You didn't say the magic word." He taunted as we approached the door.
"Please." I whined as he finally set me down gently.
"Thank you Dalligator." I batted my eyelashes and curtsied.
"You're welcome baby cakes." He rolled his eyes with a smile plastered to his face and held the door open.
To my surprise, Two-Bit and Steve were lounged out on the couch watching us. They had seen everything.
"So I'm guessing there's gonna be a wedding?" Steve taunted, his mouth full of what I believe to be chocolate cake.
"Yeah and then these two twats are gonna make babies. Imagine an army of mini Dally's wreck havoc on all of us." Two-But pitched with a snorting laugh.
Dally had frozen in his tracks and started to get red in the face.
"You two better cut it man, you saw nothing, you heard nothing. And as far as I'm concerned, I'm not having an army of mini-me's running around here anytime soon." He barked out, shoving past me towards the door.
"Sorry." He whispered only loud enough for me to hear when he surpassed me and took out a cigarette.
"Well aren't you both just the sweetest to Dally." I walked out to join Dallas out on the front porch.
