george's pov:
our christmas eve is quite simple, we keep to ourselves since we obviously only have one side of the family to visit in the time when most couples would be scrambling to both parents house.
we make cookies, go to the mall to get out family photos taken with santa and buy matching family christmas pyjamas to wear while we do all the silly traditions like leaving carrots mice pies and a mug of eggnog by the first for father christmas, then once all the hassle is over we sink down on our cozy couch and watch christmas movies until about ten when we hang our stockings up and put ivy to sleep.
while she's sleeping me wrap all her presents a long with the stuff we got for his family members, and the presents we got for eachother since we're both awful at thinking of thinks we just told eachother what we want,
"i love that vee is like a proper kid now who gets excited about santa," dream smiles as he wraps the signed packers jersey he got for his uncle,
"she wasn't a proper kid last year?" i laugh, i get what he means of course but the wording makes me chuckle, i'm currently wrapping the dyson air wrap we bought for his younger tween cousin, unlike the last two year all of dreams family are gonna be there, we'll his dads slide at least, i didn't press much about it but aparently his mum had a falling out with her parents ten years about and scarcely speaks to them, probably why we get along so well.
"of course she was but she had been so sick earlier and we spent most of the summer trying to get her to the point a three month old would be never mind a nine month old," he sighs throwing the jersey in the huge pile to bring tomorrow and moving on to what seems like the millionth football themed gift of this year,
"yeah, i know what you mean," i giggle, "how excited did you get about santa as a kid?" i ask, genuinely curious since i was never given christmas gifts as a child,
"oh god, i was unbearable," he wheezes,
"really?" i laugh,
"when i was like seven i stayed up all night to try hear him, my dad had to go into the attic and play the puns of reindeer hooves and sleigh bells so i'd knock it off and go to sleep," he smiles fondly, i'm happy at least one of us can have that smile when talking about childhood memories,
"i'd do that for ivy," i grin,
"me too," he agrees,
after twenty minutes our wrapping is done and we sneak back out to the living room to lay all of ivy's presents out as if santa claus had really been here, dream takes a couple big bites out of the carrots left out and we leave half a mince pie and a tiny bit of eggnog trying our best to make it realistic for her. we then go to bed cuddled up to eachother.
the next morning i'm woken by dream penbling my face with kisses, "merry christmas," he whispers once i've opened my eyes,
"merry christmas," i beam back,
"should we wake up ivy?" he asks excitedly,
"i need to brush my teeth," i mumble, wrapping myself around him lazily,
"you can do that after presents," he whines, embracing my gently,
"well i have to pee at least," i say,
"you can pee after presents," he groans,
"you might be able to but i had a baby last year," i inform him finally rolling out of bed,
"fine pee, but nothing else," he stays stubbornly, then standing up beside me and giving me one last kiss,
"no, we're both brushing our tether your breath smells like carrots," i laugh pulling him into the bathroom,
