dreams pov:
i make sure i'm extra careful with george over the next couple days as we pack a suitcase and flay to new york, i know he loves florida, being in our apartment and so near our family but i also see the places that have been completely spoilt for him due to this awful past, for example, the hallway just outside our safe, cozy apartment, where he had been thrown down a flight of stairs by his horrible ex and almost lost ivy, or even the suburbs surrounding his parents house, the epicentre of his trauma, where he faced years of abuse at the hands to his cruel creators.
i know he's scared, he practically attached himself to ivy wich of course the cuddly toddler doesn't object to, especially on the airplane when she gets to use him as a mattress while also admiring the view as we approach new york, an entire city blanketed with snow whats couloured by the wide range of lights, "it's pretty isn't it?" he whispers to ivy, i quietly take out my phone and snap a couple pictures of the two them admiring the view, afterwards i lean into the and hold them from behind,
"this is our new home," i remind both of them,
"'ony?" ivy asks clearly not forgetting the deal i made to her of buying her a pony to stop her from crying over the move, from the look on george's face i have a feeling he probably reminded her,
"well if you want a pony you're gonna have to prove you can look after it," i tell her, "cause when you have a baby sibling you're gonna have to help me and dada," i explain gently,
"i hep!" she nods enthusiastically,
"okay love bug, how about we as a birthday present?" i suggest, she giggles and claps then goes back to watching the lights from the city as george talks to her, i get closer to him and whisper gently in his ear, "this is our new home!"
"i know," he giggles, "we're gonna have our baby here," his smile is enough to melt my heart,
"you've got such baby fever," i tease,
"i can't help it, look how good our first one came out," he laughs,
"and this time we won't be in highschool, or have stupid drama, and we'll know what to do," i smile,
"i wanna have a home birth, in our lovely house, we could have one of those birthing pools like we wanted for vee," he says,
"that's would be nice, but what if something goes wrong?" i ask, already scared about something that isn't even certainly happening,
"we could have you're parents stay over to look after ivy, and we can have a midwife stay too, but i want it to be just us if we can, and ivy if she wants," he decides, ivy looking up at the mention of her name, i give her a quick forehead kiss and she returns to admiring the view,
"attention all passengers, we will be landing in jfk airport in ten minutes, please fasten your seat belt as we prepare to descend," a voice says of the loud speaker, george look at me with an excited grin,
"we're almost home," i smile, taking ivy from george's lap and sitting her the middle seat then moving over to the isle seat, his smile only grows larger.
after about seven minutes we feel the bumpy tarmac of the runway as it comes into contact with the wheels, and about ten minutes after that we're carrying our hand luggage off the plane and into the airport, ivy is a little fussy as we wait for our suitcases so george takes her on a walk around all the shops in the terminal as i wait.
it was definitely the right decision because the bags take half an hour to arrive, when they do the first thing i do is unfold ivys stroller and push it through the airport dragging the two large suitcases behind me to go find george.
