George's pov:
i feel nothing but fear as i sit in the back of the ambulance with ivys hand in mine, there are tears in my eyes as i gaze at my sleeping daughter, i don't even notice that we've stopped moving until the doors open and she's pulled away from me, i run to follow and thankfully unlike last time i was, and dream was on that stretcher they let me follow,
they wheel her into a bay in the er and take her vitals, "her oxygens low let get her an x-rat and put her on a ventilator," a nurse calls out, they start to push her into a hallway and i run after them, "what where is she going?" i cry,
"sorry sir no one but staff and patients through that door," a security guard says holding me back,
"that's my baby," i yell trying to push past him,
"i'm sorry sir you need to wait in the waiting area we'll call you when she's out," he says, rage and anger boils inside of me but all that comes out is tears, "waiting rooms that way," he says pointing in the opposite direction.
my lip quivers as i walk, when dream sees me he stands up with a look of worry, "george what happened? is ivy okay? where is she?" he asks,
"they took her away to get an x-ray, they- they're putting her on a ventilator," i sob falling into his broad shoulders,
"oh honey," i he sighs pulling me tighter, "they'll take great care of her i promise,"
"they said i could stay with her," i cry, "she was so scared she doesn't know what going on," i sob as he picks up and sits down on the leather seats of the quiet waiting room,
"they'll take good care of her i promise," he says as i cuddle in closer to him,
"i love you," i mumble,
"i love you too," he whispers, i close my eyes and press my face into his neck, sob gently as he comforts, it hurts even more to know if i had gone through with it last night he would be going this completely alone.
"george davidson and clay williams?" a nurse calls an hour later, i practically leap from dreams lap and pull him up with me,
"yes is she okay?" i ask pull dream over to her,
"she's in PICU in a private room on a ventilator, she has a awful chest infection wich spread so fast because she was so sick as a newborn," she explains,
"how bad is it? is she gonna be okay?" dream asks,
"as i said the chest infection is pretty serious but we have a treatment plan for her and she'll be on an oxygen machine until the infection clears up and she can breathe on her own," she explains,
"okay," i nod,
"she's in room 302 right now if you want to see her, we would advise a parent stays with her at all times since you can understand her better but if you aren't there there will be a nurse who will take great care of her," she explains,
"i'm never leaving her side again," i tell her squeezing dreams hand and following the signs towards room 302.
"my baby," i cry as i open the door to see ivy curled up bed with a tube in her nose and about a dozen different wires and monitors attached to bher, i fall to my knees beside her bed and gently stroke her forehead,
"she looks so tiny," dream whispers sitting down at the end of her bed and stroking her cheek,
"here's her chart, it shows all the medicine and machines she been put on and it has her scans and diagnosis and everything you need, if you need someone to explain it to you i can go through it but if not i'll leave you alone," the nurse who i had completely ignored the moment i say my child in that bed,
