It had been so long.
Ages. Ages and ages, really.
Aziraphale had wanted this for so long. Had been terrified of the fact that he wanted this for so long.
But now... Here he was.
Warm.
Safe.
In his bed. Which hadn't existed until very recently. And wasn't only his. It was Crowley's bed too!
In their bed. Their shared bed.
Aziraphale nuzzled himself in closer. Not because he felt he wasn't close enough, but just because he was happy and he could.
"Gh-- Fff--" came from above his head. "'Ngel... you're sssso... ssssssssssoft," a hand found its way to the back of Aziraphale's curly head and held him close.
"I love you," Crowley's voice was deep with sleep.
"Mm lof yuh tuh," came Aziraphale's muffled reply, his mouth moving slowly against the skin of Crowley's chest.
Crowley let out a raspy hum of laughter that could only be described as a sleepy giggle. "Yeh wot?" He pressed the angel's face into his chest even more.
"M mmmm mmm" Aziraphale replied.
Crowley cackled a cackle that was impressively cacklish for how little time he'd been awake. Usually, good cackles come in good time, but not this morning!
"Hmmm" Aziraphale signed contentedly, giving up his right to clear speech and further nuzzling into the soft skin of Crowley's chest.
"Awwwww, Angel," Crowley's heart swelled. "I adore you," he said slowly, savoring the truth of the words.
Aziraphale's fluffy head popped away from Crowley's chest before the demon could repeat the actions he had taken before. "I adore you too, my dearest!" The angel tilted his chin upwards and, smiling, closed his eyes.
Crowley quickly obliged him with a peck.
The angel's eyes stayed closed afterward, but his face broke into a toothy grin. He hummed a contented giggle, before returning to nuzzling into his demon's chest.
Crowley felt his heart flutter.
Having nothing and no one to interrupt them, they stayed there for a very long time.
But who's counting?
