I felt so disheartened that I left the penthouse immediately deafening Priya's loud cries and yells for me to stop and that she's sorry.
It hurt. It hurt that she doesn't trust me and that I failed to gain her trust. It hurt to see her hurting.
I needed some time to myself before I go back home and console her. By the time the sun set, I brought a beautiful diamond ring and started for the penthouse.
It's now or never.
I reach the penthouse and open it with my key to only be welcomed by darkness. I switch on the lights and look around before moving to the bedroom. There was no one here too.
I come out and find the balcony glass ajar, I move there and find my love slumped on the floor and silently crying burying her face in her knees.
I instantly crouch down next to her and wrap my arm around her shoulder whispering "Baby.."
She looks up and her disheveled state with puffy cheeks and eyes broke me.
She jumps into my arms sobbing "Don't leave me.... Please... I'm- I'm sorry... please don't go.."
I rub her back and whisper assuring things to her letting her know I'm not going anywhere leaving her.
"Baby please stop crying, you'll only spoil your health like this" I coo and she calms down in my embrace but sniffles and hiccups clutching to me tightly.
"Hey, I'm not going anywhere baby" I kiss her head and run my fingers in her locks.
"I'm sorry..." she mumbles in my chest and I kiss her hair again "I know and it's okay, I love you"
She snuggles against me and I let her be like this for sometime before the cold wind makes her shiver.
"Let's go inside now" I whisper and get up helping her up too.
She wasn't even looking at me the whole time which made me cup her face and look at me "Baby it's okay, I'm here. I love you" I whisper and her lips wobble out "I'm so bad.. you should hate me.."
"Shh!!" I shake my head and wipe her fresh tears off her cheeks "I can never hate you, I only love you and I'm not angry at you... I know this is not the time or moment but I want to ask you something really important... can I?"
She looks at me with a frown but then nods.
I smile and peck her lips before leaving her face and picking out the ring box from my pocket.
I sit on my knees infront of her who was on the couch in the living.
She looks at me wide eye while I grab one of her hand after opening the box "I know I asked you for time but I've realised that I don't want to waste anymore time being away from you, I want this. I want us. Not only now but forever and officially. Will you be my wife and make me the happiest man in the world?"
Her eyes by now had watered and she let out a whimper before shaking her head in a yes and crying... I sit back next to her and gather her in my arms as she cries into my neck.
"Why do you love me so much" She cries and I chuckle rubbing her back "Because if I stop, I'll die"
She sniffles and I say "Baby see you can't delay the marriage by falling sick, if you fall sick then I'll make you wait for another year to marry me"
She chuckles between tears and I smile wiping her face and then giving her my handkerchief to blow her nose into it.
She looks at me with love and sadness "I'm sorry.."
"If I hear that sorry again, I'm not going to marry you..." I warn her and she pouts "It's my fault ram... I shouldn't have.."
I keep my finger on her lips sushing her.
"No, you'll not blame yourself okay? I'm sorry for saying too much at that moment. You're mine. And I'm yours. You've changed me 360 Priya. I thought love was never for me but then you made me realise that love is very much in me and I want to give it to you until my last breath"
"I love you" she mumbles with tears and smile on her face which makes me smile. I lean in and capture her lips in a soul shattering kiss.
I break apart when I feel her struggling for air but not before biting her lower lip and making her hiss.
"You're the best thing happened to me" I mumble and she hugs me hiding her face in my neck.
We hold each other close dipping our faces in other's crook, wanting this moment to freeze for eternity.
She pulls back her face and so do I, as she makes herself comfortable in my lap... I tuck a strand behind her ear and cup her cheek caressing it.
"You don't have to be insecure about our love baby. Nor about yourself. You're my most precious possession and I can't think of anything but you. Whatever stupidity crosses your mind, the first thing you do is talk to me okay? Is that clear?"
She nods and I peck her forehead as she rests her head on my shoulder.
"Thankyou ram, thankyou for coming into my life and making me love it.." she mumbles and I smile playing with her locks.
"I'll always do everything I can to keep you happy my fiancé"
She looks up at me with a hue spread across her cheeks which makes me chuckle. I make her wear the ring and she caresses it before looking up at me "So beautiful"
"It has gotten beautiful because you adorned it"
I whisper kissing her fingers which makes her blush.
"Can I ask you something?" She asks hesitantly and I give her a look "You don't need to think before asking me anything Priya"
She smiles and says "You weren't ready for marriage, then suddenly today?"
"Yeah I was a fool to keep you waiting" I wink at her and she chuckles but then says "Say na.."
"I gave lot of thought to it today, rather from few days. I've never been happy the way I'm with you. Yeah I had thought to give some time but everytime it kicked me in my head like a long lost voice that duffer, make her yours before it's too late. And I had yesterday only shared to abhi that I'm going to propose to you but then this wasn't the way I had planned"
"I'm sorry to spoil it all.." she mumbles looking down and I pull her chin up "Who told you I won't propose you the way I had planned"
Her lips curve in a smile and she chuckles followed by me. I lean in and press my lips against her soft ones, knowing she is mine for life🥹❤️
