We last read Chapter 24, in which The Viper is unceremoniously abducted by the leader of the Diamond Legion, Allie Bannister, after falling for a false emergency staged by her in a successful attempt to bring the heroine into her custody. Together with her bodyguards George and Ringo, as well as four armed and visored Legion Guard troopers, Allie forces The Viper into a pink helicopter with diamond insignias on the side sliding doors—the color and symbol scheme of the Diamond Legion— and leaves with her for the Diamond Legion Skybase above Salt Lake City, Utah, intent on brainwashing her and bringing her into the Legion's service.
Meanwhile, Voltara futilely tries to call her younger brother Duncan regarding the revelation that Allie Bannister also filed the false assault allegation that has been haunting him lately, and only succeeds in being directed to the answering machine twice, with his fate ultimately being left unknown for the time being. Stricken with worry, Voltara leaves a message for Duncan pleading for him to get back to her as soon as he can, and that she loves him and would protect him as her older sister. She then returns to Sonia Pillsbury's ranch house, at which point the werewolf superheroine Nightclaw is about to leave to go on a hunt while waiting for The Viper to come back from investigating the distant explosion.....with all of them still unaware that The Viper had been kidnapped.
However, as soon as Nightclaw leaves the ranch house, she spots the pink helicopter with the diamond insignias on the sliding side doors quickly ascending into the skies, and immediately retreats back inside the ranch house to inform the others, during which Voltara rallies the remaining heroes—including Sonya herself with a few choice words—to follow the helicopter and give chase.
This time, with Voltara, Nightclaw, Coldsnap, and Sonya already in the air and en route to save The Viper, they make their final preparations before officially reaching the heart of the Diamond Legion's operations.....

-Dr. Duncan Drevis's Airship-
Sonya Pillsbury left the front pilot's cabin and allowed Voltara to steer the aircraft to its destination without distractions, knowing how dire the situation currently was. Rather than bothering the electric heroine, the former Diamond Legion assassin instead elected to retreat to the long passenger area—which consisted of several rows of incredibly-comfortable seats with a single walkable central aisle in between them—and chat with Nightclaw and Coldsnap, who by then were already in the middle of a conversation.
"I've done extensive research into you and the other heroes' careers for my upcoming podcast episodes," Nightclaw explained. "For the longest time, I've only covered The Viper, Duncan, and The Crawler, but now I'm thinking of doing some episodes on the rest of us, too!"
Coldsnap let an interested smile come to her face. "Oh? Well, then.....make sure you get my good side!"
".....It's audio-only."
"You know Spotify supports video podcasts now, right? If you use that as your main platform, you'd be able to feature us there for all to see!"
"I still have to figure that out," Nightclaw informed. "But thanks for telling me! Aren't you also the leader of some ice mages from another dimension?"
The icy heroine chuckled. "Well, yeah. Didn't the Paragons all share our backstories back when we first formed?"
"Yeah, but it's been a long time since then. I've forgotten some things about it," the werewolf lampshaded. "Just tell me if I'm right."
