Chapter 34 (Act III): The New Girl Order

We last read Chapter 33, in which Coldsnap "defeats" Bryan and B.B. in combat within the Diamond Legion Skybase's second floor antechamber.....by way of chucking B.B. out of one of the antechamber's windows and Bryan diving out of the entire mansion after him. Initially entertaining the idea of chasing them down, Coldsnap instead resolves to summon her ice dragon and head to the third floor office to assist Sonya, Nightclaw, and Voltara against Allie Bannister and her forces.

Meanwhile, Sonya, Nightclaw, and Voltara breach the third floor of the Skybase and arrive at Allie's office. They take a few moments to discuss their plan.....only to realize that Allie, George, Ringo, and a mind-controlled Viper have already gotten the drop on them.

This time, we see what happens next, as Allie reveals her grand scheme to our heroines.....

Voltara's face fell. "......Oh."

"Are we still doing the hit-and-run attack, Voltara?" Nightclaw asked sincerely, being a little late to notice their enemies' presence.

"Nope. New plan.....try not to get yourselves killed."

"Hmm. Guess I got the easy job, then."

Voltara's heart broke when she saw The Viper standing alongside Allie, with the serpentine heroine's eyes half-closed and her face in the same dead, emotionless expression as the other Diamond Legion assassins.

"When I get my hands on you, Allie....." Voltara seethed, her fists clenching at her side. "I'll---"

"You'll what?" Allie challenged. "Hurt me? Torture me? Or, dare I say.....kill me?"

Voltara grimaced as the Diamond Legion leader continued.

"Your 'friend' belongs to me now," she bragged. "She will do everything I tell her to do.....for she is my adorable servant."

To Sonya, Nightclaw, and Voltara's disgust, Allie actually kissed The Viper on the cheek at that line. Then, after pulling her lips away, she realized that Sonya was present as well, and promptly changed the subject.

"I see that the defector has finally flown back to the nest," Allie remarked. "At last. It's been.....how long, Sonya? Seven years? I must say.....it gives me a warm and nostalgic feeling, seeing you once more after so long. In fact, it's the only reason you're still alive right now."

Sonya nodded, the tone in her reply obviously carrying significant hate. "Yep. Seven years where you drove me into debt to bolster the Legion. Seven years where you've ripped girls from their families and inducted them into your sick movement against their will. Seven years.....during which I've done nothing but run. But now....." She brandished one of her combat knives and took a fighting stance. "I'm done running."

"Oh? Hahahahaha! Well, I guess you are right, in a way. You won't be running anymore after this."

George, Ringo, and The Viper stood vigilantly as Allie confronted the heroes, waiting for her order to attack them. But for the time being, they continued trading words.

"Why have you done this?!" Nightclaw roared. "WHY?!"

Allie feigned offense. "Oh, how dare you accuse me, of all people, of wrongdoing! Especially when I'm one of your own!"

"What are you talking about? You're not a werewolf!"

"But she's a woman," Voltara countered, putting two and two together.
