We last read Chapter 38, in which Voltara and The Viper get the cured Diamond Legion assassins to safety by taking them to an idle aircraft on the Skybase's western loading bay deck, allowing them to use said aircraft to fly away and escape the crashing mansion. This momentarily leaves Voltara and The Viper stranded.....only for Coldsnap to promptly come to their rescue using Dr. Duncan Drevis's massive airship, using its autopilot feature since she's untrained in piloting. The three of them then realize that Nightclaw is still unaccounted for.....but then they remember that she can survive pretty much anything if silver isn't involved, so they brush her off. And then they remember that Allie wasn't properly taken care of, so Coldsnap directs Duncan's airship around the mansion's exterior in order to find her.

The trio then spot Allie trying to make a getaway from the plummeting mansion by hopping into one of the Diamond Legion's vessels---a pink helicopter with diamond insignias on its side sliding doors---while also surrounded by Legion Guard troopers in an attempt to cover her escape. With Coldsnap unable to activate the weapons on Duncan's plane, Voltara flies out of its bottom door instead and delivers two intense electric blasts to Allie's helicopter, causing it to become engulfed in a fiery explosion that consumes the Legion Guard troopers and Allie Bannister herself, finally ending her reign of terror.

However, Voltara, exhausted, plummets off the edge of the southern loading bay deck runway and goes into a lethal free fall, causing an alarmed Viper to also jump out of the bottom door of Duncan's craft with a parachute in hand. She manages to save Voltara and ensure her safe descent, before curb-stomping Bryan Birchwood and B.B. once again with a Toxin Blade grazed against the former's skin; the attempt even ends with B.B.'s second death after his cybernetic form crashes to the grass at high speed, instantly shattering him into millions of lifeless pieces. The chapter ended with all four of the Watchwomen on track for a safe landing, after having finally terminated the Diamond Legion.

This time, we catch up with them as they return to the surface and deal with one final threat.....

Duncan's airship---with Coldsnap still at the front pilot's seat even though she wasn't physically doing anything besides relaxing---gently hovered down onto a grassy clearing in Salt Lake City, Utah. Once the vessel had officially landed, Coldsnap extended the rear entry ramp and walked out of the craft, with her first action being to glance towards the skies and witness the results of the Watchwomen's mission.

The whole Diamond Legion Skybase also violently plummeted to Earth.....but even though Coldsnap could see it, it was nowhere near her or the airship. Upon impact, the entire mansion---and the foundation it sat on---was blown up due to the fuel inside its rockets combusting, destroying the Legion's base of operations for good as well.

Coldsnap then looked at the ground slightly to her right, and saw B.B.'s shattered robotic remains lying in a disorganized pile nearby. Some of the components were still halfway functional, with blinking lights here and there amidst the metallic husks. A few sparks briefly exploded from the pile, too, the first of which made Coldsnap flinch.

Maybe I could gather those and bring them back to Duncan once this is all over..... Coldsnap thought to herself. His whole business is about robotics, after all. Maybe he could forge upgraded prosthetics!

"Hey! Hey, Coldsnap!" a voice said from behind the icy heroine. Coldsnap's head perked up and she turned around behind her, looking up to see a winded-but-active Voltara slowly and safely descending to the grass, with The Viper also holding onto her body and "sharing" her parachute.
