"You ready for tonight?" I asked Jett. She was nervous for the big ball that was held to celebrate Phoenix's birthday. He really went all out even getting all the guys matching tuxedos. They had a strict dress code and that meant getting her out of the tracksuit she wore. Not that it didn't look stunning on her, but I would be nice to see her in formal attire.
"Shut up, you don't have to remind me. Sage wants to doll us up and it's gonna take forever." She groaned. "I'm excited." I said rustling my hair. "Good thing I didn't ask." She growled. "Ay just cause you're not excited doesn't mean you gotta be a bitch about it."
I started to get up from the couch. She grabbed my arm pulling me back down. "I'm sorry I didn't mean it like that. Will you ever forgive me?" She pouted. "Fine. Only if you promise to dance with me tonight." I smiled slyly. I held out my pinky finger. She frowned, " I can't dance, but for you I'll try." She smiled interlocking her finger with mine. We went back to watching the movie for awhile until sage dragged her away.
"Y/n! Help me please!" She yelled gripping the carpet. "It's for the best." I said shedding a tear. "Y/n you asshole!" She laughed while throwing a pillow at me. "Love you!" I yelled as she was dragged out the door.

Time skip to the ball

"Thank you! Thank you! I love being born today too!" Phoenix was greeting people. Which was weird because everyone knew who he was. My eyes were torn away from his majesty when I saw the venue. It was massive. Marble everywhere a throne at the top of the balcony. A ballroom with sports on the televisions. "Damn." I whispered to myself. My eyes then fell on the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. She was wearing a light blue dress and her pale skin was seen not only on her face. She looked uncomfortable standing hunched up by the snack table. "Damn." I said for the second time that day. She looked around for a second until her eyes fell on me. She stopped glaring and started to straighten her back. I walked over to her grinning like the damn Cheshire Cat. "Hi." I said. She looked me up and down then started smiling. "Hello." I brought my hand up slowly asking for hers. " Would you give me the honor of this dance."  She giggled " I would love to." She grabbed my hand as I led her to the dance floor. I put my hands on her waist and we danced to Drake all night.
