I take my coffee from the counter and give the girl a sweet smile. "Thank you so much!"

I look at my phone when I take my coffee and see that it is Leanne. I set my coffee at a small table by the exit and read her text message.

Are you at the coffee shop across the street right now?

She must have seen my location when she saw that I wasn't in my office. I smile and type: Yes. Do you want anything?

Yes, please. An iced Americano.

I'm surprised by this response. Too much coffee makes your stomach hurt. Are you sure?

Yes. I'll pay you back when you come.

I put my phone away and scoff. Did something happen?

I shrug and get back in line. I read for anything similar to an iced Americano as someone comes in and gets behind me. I step up to the cash register and order Leanne's drink so I can go back to the table where I left my coffee. After a moment of looking through my phone and having the chance to answer my sister's text messages, I feel someone come up to me.

I look up and see a man in a suit stop in front of me. His expression is gentle, but his dark eyes have a burning shine in them as he gives me a small smile. "Hello, Miss."

I let out a soft sigh. I know where this is going. I turn towards him; ready to reject him in some way. I should just say that he's not my type this time.

But he only takes out his hand with my hospital badge on it. "I believe this is yours. You accidentally dropped it at the cash register."

I'm left surprised at the turn of events, but I quickly clear my throat and regain my composure. I take my badge and give him a warm smile. "Thank you so much."

He gives me a hint of a bow and starts back to the counter. I let out a scoff at this interaction and I find myself standing by the counter, too. He steals a glance at me but does not say anything or make any expression whatsoever. I'm slightly annoyed that he has not said anything to me like everyone else does. He doesn't even smile when I clearly give him a small smile as I stand by the counter.

I suddenly start to wonder if he works around here. He looks like he is dressed ready for work. He gives me a secretary impression from his straight posture and hands behind his back. Maybe he's getting coffee for his boss like a good secretary.

I don't know why I'm waiting for him to speak up or look at me, but I grow more annoyed when he looks at his phone as if I were not by his side. So I find myself taking out my phone and calling Leanne.

What am I doing?

"Hello?" Leanne answers.

"Hi, babe! I'm just waiting for your coffee right now."

Leanne is silent for a moment and then says, "Okay?"

I do a little giggle and steal a glance at him again. He looks up from his phone to look at me when he hears my giggle, but then looks back at his phone again. I clench my jaw and sweetly say on the phone, "Don't worry about me all the time, love! I'm just across the street! Do you miss me already?"

"What?"

I laugh and say, "I miss you, too. Do you have a surgery tonight?"

Leanne has gotten the jest of what I'm doing and playfully says, "Why? Should we meet up tonight? Oh, wait. Let me speak in Korean so whoever you're trying to reject thinks you have an Oppa."

"Mhm..." I look at the man and he doesn't even look my way as he takes his coffee. He gives the girl a warm smile that makes my heart do a small flutter and takes a straw.
