pain + perfection

        The feeling of longing for something you'll never have. People long for a perfect life, one without hatred, dread, depression, loss, fear, and jealousy. The ideal perfect life would have no tragedies, no unwanted feelings, and nothing that could hurt a person. That life is not only impossible, but damaging.

    Though we probably all like to, we cannot mature through a life without pain or negative emotions. Pain can be compared to a little kid getting a shot at the doctors office. The child screams, sobs and persists throughout the doctor's visit. The child refuses the shot, but it still happens. The child still gets the shot. A few hours later, that same child is completely fine and content. The things that we dread will still happen, even if we try our best to prevent it.

   Pain comes and goes. Even though it's hard to, we have to embrace and accept it. It hurts, but I can promise you, you'll be even stronger in the future. A moment of great pain that you are feeling right now, will be a distant memory in your future. Even though you think it might, the world will not end. The sun will still shine bright, the moon will still go through it's phases, and the stars will still align and shine. This pain you are feeling will not be the last pain in your life, and that's okay. Don't let it be your last pain.

   I believe in you. Don't let this pain make you a pretty sunset, a star in the night sky, or a butterfly in the wind. The truth is, the sun is pretty, the sunset is jaw dropping, a star shows us the way, and a butterfly is stunning, but none of those things are as gorgeous and amazing as you.

I wrote this today, and I thought instead of waiting to post it, i'd post it now. I really do hope you like it.

I hope that your holiday season was brilliant, and you got all the things you wished for! Sorry for not posting!
