11: The Essence of Life: Coffee

Thinking about it logically, I needed Bakugo to make number 1 (in the sports festival) and I needed Tokoyami third/fourth. Iida would leave before his match, meaning that if I'd win from Midoryia I'd have to fight...

My brain stopped thinking as I reached the coffee machine.
Ah yes, the essence of life, in a cup, served warm and nice and tasty and godly and—

Once more fired up, I was ready to think again.
I didn't want to change up to much, and changing season three with All Might's fight at Kamino, then...

I nodded, I should win this fight.

How though...

Sipping the coffee, I felt a smile creeping up to my face.

Yep, to much coffee for one day, this wasn't healthy.

The crowd cheered as I stepped onto the thing stage.
Midoryia stepped on as well, looking confident and ready. The fight started and Midoryia came at me.
His quirkless fighting was alright, but I had had a teacher so I easily made him trip and oop, he lost.

"No!"

I shrugged, "I guess I should have wished you a bit more luck just now."

Realising that as well, Midoryia's defeated look turned into a weird one.
As I helped him up, he seemed to frown behind me. When I looked, I realised this was almost as if he was seeing the one for all ghosts. But that seems improbable, right? I had thought it out that he could have the chance to see them before this.

Preparing for what I decided would be my last match, I found Shinso congratulating me on my win.
I smiled and we talked for a bit before it was time for me to shine.

Tokoyami... you're not going down.

As Dark Shadow pushed me out of bounds I could have cried in relief.

It was over, finally!

Bakugo won from Tokoyami in the finales and—

I woke up from my nap.
"God I can't let Bakugo fight Tokoyami...
"He'd not appear angry, no..."

More idiotic shit I messed up.
Great.

Shinso noticed me awake and sat up, handing me my book which he had started to read.
"I book marked it for you," he told me.

I smiled, "You're way to kind."
Then I actually looked at it, and the corner had been folded.
"You monster." Left my mouth before I thought.

Shinso glanced at the book, "Really?"

I sighed, "It's damaging the book, that's not good."

Rolling his eyes, Shinso smiled, "Some bugs are poisonous, you know."

Squinting my eyes, I huffed, "And that's supposed to mean...?"

"There's one on your shoulder—"

I was very quick to look.
Realising I had been tricked I frowned, finding Shinso laughing.
"You're a meany," I mumbled, "No fun."

"No, I'm having fun." Shinso got up, "It's almost time for your match though."

I sighed.

How did I get myself into this mess?

By wanting to change something that wasn't that necessary to change...
Shaking my head, I walked inside, finding a snack before I went out to fight Tokoyami.

Yay, another fight!
I wasn't looking forwards to it, but I knew that I couldn't walk away from the problems I was creating, so I got ready.

The plan was simple.
Teleport to Tokoyami, hold onto him while dark shadow was where I was previously, and teleport Tokoyami out, leaving my own feet safe within bounds.

Why couldn't this be as easy as the fight with Midoryia? At least then I could do hand to hand combat and I could show off my dodging moves (—totally not learned in abusive households—).

Walking up to Tokoyami I knew that this would be the last fight I'd win.

Come on, I could do this!
As I reached the cement, I took a deep breath.
The amount of caffeine would have to be enough to scare Tokoyami away, so let's go!

Tokoyami gave me a glance before the match began.
Dark shadow reached me and I teleported, caught Tokoyami and appeared with my feet on the line, Tokoyami's feet just outside.

And then my legs gave out and my body collapsed, Recovery girl telling me I was overdosing on caffeine—
As much as I tried to ignore it, I had had way to much coffee.

Then the last fight, the finals! The thing people strived for!
It was here! And I was not ready.

Pacing, I wondered what I could do.
Maybe if I declared that my quirk was better, and then not use it?

Ah...

I didn't know.

I'm hopeless.

On my way to the match I tripped and face planted, Uraraka finding me and giving me a pep talk just to get me off the ground for I wasn't moving.

I felt like shit. Caffeine kept me awake, though, I wasn't. I was asleep and tired.
Walking up to the cement I found Bakugo ready to fight.

"Let's see wether you're really that strong," Bakugo challenged.

Knowing I wouldn't be able to preform the way he wanted to, I grinned, "Oh, you're on," I challenged back, "May the best win."

I teleported to Bakugo almost immediately, managing to punch him before I got an explosion in my face.
A large explosion went off sudddenly and I flew away.

I got up, but then my legs gave out again.
Bakugo glared at me, "Get up, you're not this weak!!"

I glared back as I tried, only to fall back down, everything shaking before I gave up and my vision even dared darkening.

Well, guess I died—

Recovery girl sighed as she looked at the test results.
"How much coffee have you had?"

I pressed my lips together, everything spinning a bit as I ever so softly mumbled the number.

"Speak up." Recovery girl said sharply.

"Alright," I grumbled, "Seven cups—"

Nobody ever tells you how much a cane hurts if it gets hit on your head.
My arms went up in defence and Aizawa fortunately came to my rescue.

Sadly I hadn't missed the award ceremony and had to climb onto the stage, All Might handing me a medal.

Second place.

Nice, I guess.

And Bakugo looked like a feral hedgehog, and Tokoyami was third, and Todoroki was thinking about using his fire and Midoryia had seen the one for all ghosts and— and—

Shinso's still would only make the hero course in season five.

...

What am I doing this for!?

Aaaaaaahhhhhhh!!

Sitting in Aizawa's car, I got a harsh look.
"Just so you know, your grounded from Coffee."

"What—??"

"Two cups a day, max." Aizawa sigehd, trying to compromise.

I huffed.
"Great, you wish to kill me."

Though, deep down, I felt cared for.
However I hated it because I needed my caffeine!
Insert very annoyed huff.
