A soft floor.A blanket.
Someone softly cried.
The smell of cleaning supplies.
As I opened my eyes, it took me a second to get them to focus again.
Someone stood over me, holding a hand across her mouth.
"Mom?"
My eyes found her and she only cried harder. My foster mother. Or well, last time I checked she was.
In this reality I supposed it still counted. She had gotten a haircut. Her long black hair now coloured brown, and it was way shorter.
Looking around, I found that I must be in a hospital.
"Are you alright?"
I squinted my eyes.
No.
I wasn't.
Automatically I nodded softly, though my mother still hugged me, leaning over the bed slightly.
I stayed still as I stared down at my hands.
"How long was I gone?"
My mother pulled back.
"Months."I tilted my head.
She hadn't given up on me.
I thought she didn't care."Do you... do you remember anything?" My mother asked carefully.
I touched my head to find bandages over my forehead. Had I gotten any injuries? What happened before I passed out?
"No."How had I gotten injured?
I remembered figuring out... everything.
But... then what?Sitting on that bed, staring down at my hands, I wondered if it even mattered.
I could stay home.
I could end this whole thing, here and now.
Why should I go back and make more of a mess?
Why should I go and hurt people?
Why should I?
The long while it took for me to get home and to get excused to my room, I had to think.
As much as it hurt to think, I thought.I thought about what I should do.
I thought about what I could do.
And I thought about what I did.
Especially that last one was both an exclamation mark and a question mark, at the same time but used separately.
I sighed as I got up from where I had been sitting on my bed.
As I traced the familiar walls off my room, I wondered if it was okay. Was it fair to give up now?
Nearing the window, I suddenly found the moon shining down on me.
I tapped my fingers on the window sill, not caring about the dust my fingers caught.
The hours of training with Aizawa.
The hours learning and studying.Shigaraki's hugs.
Dabi's jokes, he burned down the Starbucks.
Toga's caring.
Aizawa... Well, he was dadzawa for sure.Shoto held my hand.
Wiping away something rolling down my cheek, I suddenly noticed it wasn't red.
They were just some tears.
