Ano nga ba ang tadhana?

Michelle has always believed in destiny.

She believes it was destiny that canceled her best friend/housemate Rhian's flight home from Japan which forced her to book with another airline.

She believes it was destiny that made sure that all business and first class seats were sold out that Rhian had to settle for an economy seat. (Not that Rhian didn't fly economy, but when the network pays for it, why not go all out?)

It was definitely destiny that pulled its strings that whoever was supposed to sit on the middle seat of the row Rhian was assigned to ended up missing the flight.

And it was truly, truly destiny that assigned Anntonia the window seat when she specifically requested an aisle seat. She didn't like riding planes and seeing whatever it was they can crash into when she looks out the window was something she's always actively avoided. And so when she found herself seated on the window seat, she garnered all her courage as she turned to the lady on the aisle seat, put on her sweetest smile, and asked if she'd like to switch seats.

And it was destiny that tickled Rhian into doing something she'd never really done before, trust her gut and go with it. So she turned to the lady a few minutes later, tapped her shoulder, and with an equally sweet smile as she gave her earlier, "Hi, I'm Rhian! I know this is going to sound really, really weird but do you by any chance watch the Miss Universe pageants?"

And that was how Michelle, in the middle of the day, over a choppy video connection while Rhian's flight was delayed by half an hour (by none other than destiny, of course), got introduced to Anntonia.

Rhian, much later on, told Michelle that she didn't really know what came over her that day. But all she knew was she just looked at Anntonia and felt that she and Michelle needed to meet. Rhian was actually the first one to say that they were destined for each other.

Michelle would love to say that destiny smoothed things over for them as much as it did in making sure they met that fateful day through Rhian, but it didn't...

And this is their story.
