"I love it baby."

I twirl around in my dress again. I was so grateful Angelo had found it. It really was beautiful. I'm glad Maddox approved too.

"Don't tell anyone what it looks like. It's going to be a surprise," I say.

"Alright, it's our secret. Now go change, we have people to greet," he says as he closes my door.

I start to change back into regular clothes. Angelo and Luci had left for Italy earlier this morning. There was still about a week until the party. I had tried to convince them to stay but they said they had to go. Apparently there was important things to do. I don't know, I thought they could do those two weeks from now but I guess not.

I finished getting into my sweats and hung my dress in my closet. Every time I looked at it I got more excited. I'd never been to any kind of party, let alone the kind Maddox was describing.

"Gracie, hurry up!"

I guess I wasn't moving fast enough for him. I pick up the pace to go downstairs. When I get there Mia and Mason are standing in my living room.

Mia and Mason were standing in my living room?

Before I can really process anything I had my arms full of Mia.

"Hi Grace!"

"Hey! Hi! You're in my house?"

She squeezed me tight but I squeeze her back just as hard. I hadn't seen her since the mission. I was glad she was okay. Although she wasn't the one who was wounded. I look at Mason from over her shoulder. From what I could see he had some sort of brace that wrapped around his torso and also some crutches that only came up to his arms. He smiled at me all lopsided.

"Mia, stop being a friend hog," he jokes.

She sighs but lets me go anyway. I go over to Mason. I kind of just stand there. I didn't want to hurt him more.

"You can hug me gorgeous," he says.

I hesitate, but hug him around his middle. He can't really hug me back, but that doesn't matter. I was insanely grateful that he was okay. That was the important part. When I let go I have so many questions that I don't even know where to start.

"Maddox invited us down early. I think he just wanted you to see us. It's also easier to be here already instead of trying to unpack with everybody else. We need extra time for him yknow?" Mia says as she nods at Mason.

"Hey, I was off the plane before you were and you have a very functional body," he fires back.

"I had to carry all of the bags!"

"I only started walking two days ago!"

"Okay, okay I get it guys," I interrupted, "How long do you have those for?"

"What these bad boys? Just until i'm walking right again. Who knew getting shot would cause so many issues," he complains.

"You should probably sit down Mas. You know you aren't really supposed to be up for too long," Mia says.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah."

He sits down on the couch with her help. He could only bend so far because of the brace he had. I sit next to him and Mia sits on the floor in front of us. Apparently, Mason had to do physical therapy. That would explain why he's always at the gym now. He has his own trainer and everything. I don't know how long we sit there and catch up for, but it was long enough that people started coming home from work. First it was Sylas and Milo. I wasn't sure that they were actually going to work, but I didn't really want to know otherwise. They were quite loud when they saw Mia and Mason. Well, Milo was loud. Sylas did verbally greet them though so that was really nice.
