*Six months later*
I gasp as a bucket of water is dumped on me.
"Mas!"
Mason runs away as to not meet my anger. I was so warm and dry before and now I just feel like a wet rat.
I get up and chase him down the beach.
"I'm not letting you get away with that!" I say.
He runs into the ocean. I cross my arms from the sand.
"That's not fair!" I say.
He knew I wouldn't follow him into the water. Big bodies of water weren't really my thing.
I trudge back to my spot next to a sleeping Mia and try to dry off. Sylas laughs at my struggles.
"Stop it Sy."
"I can't help it. Watching you get all angry is funny," he said softly.
I glare at him. Drying off was no use. I was just getting covered in sand.
We'd been in Italy for about a week now. Maddox had finally given into my incessant nagging. It was even better than the pictures. Luci had taken me to all the must see spots. She'd even shown me the secret less touristy ones.
Maddox had let each of us invite a plus one. I brought Mia and Milo brought Mason. Sylas brought Lexi. They'd been together for about four months now, which I totally saw coming. Obviously Brandon and Easton brought Luci and Angelo, even though they already live here. Maddox hadn't brought anyone, but I had my suspicions. He's been going on a lot of mysterious night trips and the name Allison had come up in a few conversations I eavesdropped on. Unless Allison was the name of a big mafia guy, I think Maddox might have made a new special friend. I never asked him about it though. He was private and he wouldn't tell me if he didn't want to. It was annoying.
I roll over on my towel.
Brandon, Lexi, Milo, and Mason had a game of volleyball going. Brandon and Lexi were on a team together and it wasn't looking good for the other two. Mia was still passed out next to me. Sylas and Mason were in the water splashing each other. I roll my eyes but I'm glad they can enjoy themselves. Maddox, Easton, and Angelo were in what looked like a deep conversation. Luci was leaning one Angelo's back while she reads a book.
I had napped earlier. Who knew vacations could be so tiring?
Mason came over to me and shook his wet hair onto my almost dry body before plopping down on my chest.
"Can I help you?" I asked.
"Nope," he says.
"Are you planning on staying here for a while," I say, gesturing to him.
"Yes," he says as he gets comfortable.
I roll my eyes and sigh even though we both know i'm not upset.
He eventually dozes off and I reach for my book. Sylas has been forcing me to read at every opportunity. It used to be annoying but now I don't mind. I'm better at it now, so it was kind of fun. Not to mention it's way better when it's not the stupid books from school. Those ones were always so weird.
About an hour later when everyone was sort of awake again Easton called for lunch. Sylas and Milo came in from where they had been floating in the water. Sylas picked Lexi up and gave her a big wet hug which i'm sure she appreciated.
Easton unloads all the sandwiches that he and Angie made this morning from the cooler. I dump Mason on the sand and grab the sandwich with my name on it.
