I MADE MY WAY OVER to the cafeteria, and i looked around to see if i noticed any familiar faces. everyone i knew was seperated. cole was with his group while danny was in the back reading. then there was lee and isaac who were the most chaotic ones, laughing at who knows what.
"avery! over here." nathan calls, beside him was alex.
i smile and walkover to them, "thanks."
"how was your first class?" alex asks.
"couldve been better." i reply, resting my head into the palms of my hand.
"should we invite jackie too?" nathan asks his brother, who was watching the lunch line.
"oh yeah i'll go grab her." alex says, beginning to stand up but then stops as he notices his brother, cole beating him to it. yikes.
you could practically see fumes coming out of alex's head as he watches cole cut the line with jackie to buy her lunch.
the three of us watch as cole leans to my sister to say something and then proceeds to lead her to the front
"oh!" i say, stunned, "he can cut the line?"
alex grabs his backpack from the table and leaves. he mutters something under his breath but i couldnt hear. i feel really bad for him. since we got here, he had heart eyes for jackie.
"alex!" nathan calls, but its too late, he already left.
i noticed everyone who was just eating their lunches a second ago drop their sandwiches, turn their heads to watch cole pick out what jackie eats.
"damn. he paid for her stuff too?" i say in shock while my eyes widened.
he then led her to his little group beside the window.
"thats cole for you." nathan sighs, taking a bite out of his sandwich, "want the other half?"
