I NEVER RAN SO FAST. i fled the scene like i was searching for a getaway car. i wasnt a runner by any means, that was jackie's thing. i was still speechless on what just happened.
i was speechless because my drunk self told him he was cute and that he was pretty, thank god he stopped me because if he didnt i would've told him that i had a crush on him too. i was also speechless that he almost kissed me. it was all so quick, i couldnt process it.
i felt the adrenaline rushing through my veins as i ran towards the direction of town square. at this point, the sun had already set and it was pitch black. but that didnt stop me. i needed to tell josie asap.
i was practically flying through the quiet streets of town square like i was batman ready to save the world.
"josie!" i say, out of breath as i swung open the cafe doors.
"avery!" she greeted, wiping down the tables, "did something happen dear?"
"im really sorry, i know you're closing in a few minutes but isaac, he almost kissed me."
josie's eyes lit up, "aw im so happy, but what do you mean almost?"
"he did the things like the couples in the movies— y'know when they would look into the other person's eyes and smile." i was grinning so wide.
"of course." she smiles.
"even if he didnt kiss me, i know he wanted too i just know."
"what made you think he wanted too?" she smiled at me.
"his eyes said it all."
