"I learned from simply observing Himejima-san, when we stand under the water fall we want to have a strong base. So you don't want to stand with your legs close together, you'll easily lose control and fall under the weight of the water. Instead, spread your legs evenly apart and bend your knees but not too much. You want to be in a squat. Yes, just like that. And with time, you'll want to lower it until your butt is practically touching the ground." Helping (Name) perfect her stance, he continued coaching.

"And you want to clasp your hands in front of yourself and keep your shoulders squared. Do not ease up when under the water. Not even for a second. You can simply stay underneath the water and try to endure it with sheer will power. But, I've learned that being in a state of total concentration helps a lot." Backing away from (Name), he continued his lecture.

"Himejima-san uses it and so do I. It's called Repetitive actions."

"Repetitive actions?" She tilted her head.

"Yes, it's a set of pre-determined movements that are used to maximize concentration. Himejima-san says that Namu—Namu thing and I chant prayers."

"I noticed that a few days ago but didn't ask about it. I just thought you were a very devout man."

"You could say that. I chant that prayer almost everyday. Memorized it. Anyway, is there anything in particular you think will help you concentrate?"

(Name) raised from her stance and crossed her arms. She let out a hum, "Well, there was this one thing my father would tell me he'd do when in pain because of his declining health.

He'd close his eyes and take in a deep breath, hold it for about eight seconds, then let it go. He said when he takes that breath in, he thinks of all the pain he's experiencing and hold it in. Then, one by one he'd blow each pain away with the breath he was letting out."

Walking into the freezing water, she shivered. "He said when he let that breath out, it was as if he were a calm summer day. No pain, just warmth and a feeling of being soothe. But maybe that's because he wanted to get rid of the pain. I want to remind myself of that anger and sadness I felt, it's the only thing that will bring me the strength I need."

Approaching the falling water, she looked at Genya. "Though, being in a state of total calm sounds amazing. But for now, I'll use my anger to fuel my strength."

"Then maybe you should take all that anger and wrap it up into a nice calm. You know, like the calm before the storm. Being angry while fighting isn't always good, anger tends to override proper judgment."

"You know what, you're actually right!"

Bending her knees and squaring her back, she asked if that was correct.

Getting a yes from Genya, she nodded and slowly backed into the water. Only to jump out immediately. "GAHH ITS FREEZING! IT FELT LIKE I WAS BEING STABBED!" Wobbly she stood, shivering and amazed. "G-Genya how...do you s-stand under that shirtless?!"

The boy laughed at her misfortune. "You scream like a dying pig."

"Shut up!"

Laughing once more, he joined her in the river. "I still have a hard time getting used to the water as well. It'll feel better in the summer. Anyway, watch me demonstrate."
