(Sorry if there's any mistakes, didn't proof read.)

The world we live in consists of both good and bad. Not everything can be good, and everything won't end well. People die, suffer, and many more terrible things like bullying and beating on others. However, the feeling of a bad ending is far worse when you know there's something you could have done, but couldn't because you were too late.

Helpless. That's how she felt.

Looking at Hana kneeling before the freshly packed dirt and brand new headstone, (Name) could only feel one emotion.

Frustration.

She had told Hana she'd bring her husband back, alive of course! Yet, she had failed. She knew there was nothing she could do, it wasn't her fault the demon killed so many innocent elderly people. It wasn't her fault she arrived as late as she did.

It wasn't her fault, she didn't know!

Maybe if she were faster she could have saved him. If she were faster she could have saved more innocent lives. If she were faster she could have-

"Thank you, (Name)."

(Name) blinked her eyes momentarily before looking at Hana, confusion written on her face she could only let out a small noise.

"..huh?"

Hana pulled herself from the ground and smiled at (Name), it was one filled with acceptance and content.

'I don't understand...how can she seem so at peace knowing her husband is dead?'

"Thank you for finding him. Not knowing the fate of a loved one weighs much heavier on my heart than knowing the truth. I know I'll miss him but, he's now resting peacefully. That's all I could ever ask for. So, I thank you and wish to give you this."

Grabbing both of (Name)'s hands she brought them out to rest in front of the two of them. Letting go, she reached into the purse strapped to her side and pulled out a dark gray metal box.

The box was about the size of a small bowl one would use when dipping their food when eating. Its sides weren't rounded and had a more geometrical curve and turn to them, all coming together to create a hexagon shaped box. The sides were trimmed with aged gold and an intricate flower design was on all sides, small red jewels decorating the center of the flowers and leaves.

The top had the same design as the sides and when opened it was connected to the hexagonal box by two hinges. Looking at the dragon fly charm sitting on the plush red bottom of the box, (Name) furrowed her brows and looked up at Hana.

"Oh no,no. I can't take this-"

"Please do. My husband gave it to me as a gift during one of our anniversaries."

"But, I don't think I deserve this? I've...I haven't done much Hana–San I was just doing my job. Please, take it back." Nudging her hands into Hana's direction, (Name) tried to give it back but the old woman shook her head and pushed (Name)'s hands back onto her chest.
