"Ano, hija, nakapili ka na?"

My lips twisted as I looked at the different shoes in front of me. Nagpadala sina Daddy at Mommy ng personal shopper para pumili ng mga susuotin ko para sa nalalapit kong debut.

My three pieces debut gown was personally designed by my Mom. Pinasadyang ipatahi lahat. It was of color champagne, royal blue, and dark red. All with diamonds and glittery design like a princess in a castle who was about to crown.

I am an only child and given the means, my parents wanted perfection for their only daughter. In all matters. Hindi nila lalong palalampasin ang mahalagang araw tungkol sa akin.

"You should invite your whole class!" Aniya Mommy na tuwang tuwa.

"Mom, I don't need these. B-Baka po pwedeng simple lang. Susuotin ko na lang po ang mapipiling gown. Kisses, Daddy, and you would be fine in a restaurant."

Lumaki akong sunod sa luho. I was spoiled with everything. We even transferred here in Manila because of my studies. Hindi nila kayang mawalay sa akin. Daddy oversee our plantation business in province. At mahirap ang adjustment nito kahit hindi sabihin sa akin. He's too overprotective that he won't let me be on my own.

"Who's your escort? Did you choose already?" Mommy continued, ignoring my sentiments.

Hindi ko alam kung sino sa kanila ng assistant ang unang sasagutin. Abala siya sa paglilista ng kung ano sa kanyang notebook.

"I invited Bjorn. He volunteered..." I answered lazily.

Mommy looked at me. "Bjorn...? Ang layo niya, ah. Wala sa mga kaklase mo rito?"

"I don't have many friends here. Besides, mas komportable ako kung siya ang makakapareha."

"You should make friends. Manila is wide. Don't be so uptight..."

Pasimple akong ngumuso. Kung gaano kahigpit sa akin si Daddy ay ganoon naman kaluwag sa akin si Mommy.

Mommy sighed as she caught me unhappy. Mas gugustuhin ko pang mag-shopping at bumili ng mga gusto ko kaysa makipag-sosyalan sa mga taong hindi ko naman mga kilala.

Mommy invited hundred of visitors from their Manila friends. Mayroon sa probinsya sa Bacolod pero hindi rin sigurado kung makakapunta.

"You're going to be used to this life here. Pagkakamali namin ng Daddy mo na ikinulong ka sa probinsya. You should make friends here."

"I have Kisses with me. Sasakit ang ulo ko kung maraming Kisses pa ang kakaibiganin." I jokingly said while smiling a bit.

Mommy laughed at my remark. "Choose your shoes now, miss."

Pumili ako ng isang pares lang na magiging komportable ako. A white open-toe heeled sandals with glittery details. Para hindi na magtagal ay pinal na akong pumili sa lahat ng kailangan. Mommy giggled like she get what she wanted.

The most awaited day came. I was wearing my first dress. The champagne colored one. Ayos na ang make-up ko. My hair was down in half ponytailed and it ends were curled neatly, cascaded on my both cheeks were strands of few curls.

Kanina pa nagsimula at may mga nauna nang ganap. Daddy and Mommy did their welcoming remarks and so on...

Kabado ako habang naririnig mula sa likod ng kurtina ang pag anunsyo ng Masters of the Ceremony para sa grand entrance ko. I heard from our helpers that many visitors came. Mga elite rin at pawang mga negosyante. I wasn't used to many people. I have stage fright. Para akong hihimatayin sa kaba, maisip pa lamang na maraming tao ang nag aabang sa paglabas ko.
