There had been no intention on Sunghoon’s part to keep the revelation of his feelings a secret. Truly, it had been a mere accident. Something unavoidable. Mostly because he didn’t see Heeseung at all throughout the day after they had sex. Considering Heeseung’s rut was coming up and there was also the ball, Sunghoon brushed it off as a coincidence. He spent his time with his companions and finishing up some details for Heeseung’s birthday.
But then, another day went by and somehow Sunghoon didn’t see Heeseung again. It seemed weird since they literally slept in the same room. But somehow, Heeseung seemed to have come into the room after Sunghoon had fallen asleep and left before he’d woken up. Again, having been only two days, Sunghoon thought he was being paranoid. And then a third day went by and something had to be going on. Sunghoon didn’t want to believe Heeseung was actively avoiding him, but he was running out of other plausible excuses.
On the fourth day he woke up without Heeseung by his side, Sunghoon began spiralling. It had to be his fault, but he couldn’t come up with a reason. He couldn’t come up with any reason for Heeseung to be avoiding him, at least not any good one. That was until his brain decided to offer a, more or less, plausible motive. From the beginning, Heeseung had been pretty reluctant to have any kind of sexual relationship with him. So, it wouldn’t be that outlandish to believe that maybe he’d pushed him too far. Sunghoon was slowly convincing himself that he had pressured Heeseung to have sex with him, and Heeseung hadn’t actually wanted to. Heeseung had come to him sure, but Sunghoon was certain he was nice enough that he’d do it for him, despite not wanting to himself.
In his mind, this just meant he needed to apologise to Heeseung and assure him that they didn’t need to have sex again, even if he really wanted to. Even if he still needed to be claimed.
“Do you know if Heeseung will have any free time soon?” Sunghoon asked Jungwon when they crossed paths. Jungwon seemed pretty stressed out, and Sunghoon did feel sorry for him, but he needed to know. Jungwon, he believed, would be the only one who could accurately tell him about Heeseung’s schedule.
“Heeseung?” Jungwon seemed lost for half a second. “I mean, he should have the afternoon free, since… you know,” he gestures vaguely with his hand. “What conversation did you forget to have now? I thought you’d solved things,” he asked, like there couldn’t be any other reason why he was looking for Heeseung.
“I wouldn’t say it’s a conversation… more of an apology,” he said shamefully. “I may have done something he didn’t like…” Jungwon looked at him incredulously.
“I think you may actually need that conversation,” he chuckled. “He should be in his room after lunch, mid-afternoon at the latest, talk it out.” He excused himself and continued on his way, evidently busy.
There was no way that, if Heeseung had been avoiding him, he’d willingly walk into his room in the middle of the day; not if he knew Sunghoon could be there or come at any time. Unless, of course, he didn’t know Sunghoon may walk by. If Heeseung assumed Sunghoon would be out of the room long enough, perhaps even until after dinner, then he’d get there early and sleep. Sunghoon couldn’t talk to him if he was already asleep. Hopeful, he had lunch with Yeonjun, Soobin and Sunoo, and went straight to their room.
When he told Sunoo his plan, even if without a reason, Sunoo smiled cheekily and winked. Possibly because he hadn’t given him the explanation, Sunoo had assumed he had some other ideas in mind. Sunghoon wouldn’t lie, he’d love for that, but it didn’t seem like Heeseung had the same intentions.
He waited patiently for a while, there was nothing for him to do so he just got comfortable on the bed; he almost felt like taking a nap. He breathed in Heeseung’s strong scent, which seemed to be extra concentrated, and he felt his body relaxing. Missing Heeseung might have heightened his sensitivity to his scent, or so Sunghoon assumed. He would have fallen asleep, honestly, if he hadn’t been feeling so anxious.
