Any given day, Sunghoon may say something was wrong with Yeonjun. For some unknown reason, Yeonjun seemed to always have something going on, though most days it wasn’t anything serious. Honestly, Sunghoon would say it was never something serious, but he wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. It hadn’t been the case yet, but it could be in the future. If Sunghoon was to go off by Yeonjun’s distressed scent alone, he’d argue this may be the serious situation.

Sunghoon met Yeonjun at breakfast and he looked rough. His hair was messed up, he couldn’t stop bouncing his legs and he looked pale. He was muttering things to himself so rapidly and lowly that Sunghoon couldn’t make out any word, and it was honestly quite disconcerting.  Yeonjun was so wrapped in his own head, he didn’t even notice when Sunghoon sat in front of him. The scene was so unsettling that Sunghoon just stared at him, Yeonjun wasn’t even eating. Sunghoon looked over at Sunoo to confirm they were seeing the same thing, it was weird. Heeseung sat next to him, also seemingly concerned over Yeonjun’s state.

“Should we…” Heeseung began asking, though Sunghoon nodded right away. “Yeonjun?” He called, and was absolutely ignored. “Yeonjun,” he called more loudly. It wasn’t a shout, but Yeonjun still flinched in fright. “Is everything okay?” Heeseung asked once Yeonjun was looking at him.

“Y-yeah, yes, of course,” Yeonjun stuttered. “Why would anything be wrong?” Sunghoon thought he wasn’t even trying to sound convincing.

They stayed silent, hoping Yeonjun would continue on his own. He did not, and instead pretended to eat. “Yeonjun, you are trying to cut your food with the spoon, please…” Sunghoon pointed at his plate; Yeonjun didn’t stop his actions, staring at his hands in disbelief but committing to it. “Did something happen with Soobin?”

“What? No, of course not, what are you saying,” Yeonjun answered anxiously. Sunghoon knew Yeonjun was better than that at lying, so something was definitely wrong.

“Did he do something?” Heeseung asked tentatively. He didn’t want to accuse him of anything, not even insinuate it, but Yeonjun wasn’t helping them figure things out.

“He would never,” this time Yeonjun’s voice was firm and sure. He was obviously offended, but at least they knew it wasn’t that. “Not like that, never like that,” he continued.

“But it has to do with Soobin?” Sunghoon queried. “Did you argue? Fight?” It wouldn’t be the first time, they had disagreements every once in a while, which would lead to Yeonjun complaining to anyone who would listen. Those often resolved themselves, but now and again someone else had to intervene.

“No,” Yeonjun denied. “I mean— nothing’s wrong… and even if something was —not saying it is— Soobin wouldn’t have anything to do,” Yeonjun tried to explain or correct himself. Sunghoon wasn’t sure what Yeonjun was trying to accomplish, actually. “I mean, hypothetically, if something was wrong, I guess… I guess Soobin would be related? But it’s not like he’d be the cause, more like just… he’s always somewhat related, right?”

“Sure…” Sunghoon nodded along, maybe he’d actually talk about whatever was bothering him.

“But it’s not like he’s always going to be the problem, you understand? Right? But we’ve been together for so long that it’s just natural that he’d be involved…” Yeonjun kept rambling. “But… but maybe he’s not in every aspect of my life? Like, there’s definitely things he doesn’t know and that I don’t know, right? There must be.” He agreed with his own point.

“Yeonjun—” Heeseung was about to stop his mostly monologue, but Yeonjun had other plans.

“Have you talked about having kids?” Sunghoon almost dropped his glass at the sudden question. “You mustn’t have, right? You had hundreds of other stuffs to sort out, you probably haven’t had the time—”
