I should have killed him when I had the chance.

As I gawk at the bane of my existence making his way up to the VIP section, it makes my blood boil and my soul parched for murder. Four years now and I have never felt a desire this bad to scoop his eyeballs and punch him hard. Today outdoes everything.

"God! Di, you should come clean to him and apologise. You literally were going to accuse him of cheating? He pushed that woman with the speed of light and is reaching out to you." Prerna swats my hand away, shaking her head at me disappointedly.

He was going to be a cheater. He was going to ruin any notions of our supposed marriage before he decided to stab me in the back and take his route.

What the hell is he wanting to prove? What for the love of God is his plan? What is his excuse?

Even though I am shaken, my eyes don't leave his, he moves closer and nearer to where I stand,  my breath hitches, my heart throbs and my mind is shivering.

The lack of lighting does nothing to stop me from recognising the smirk on his face, it's not a smirk that wants to taunt me of my miseries but it is something deep. As if he is pretending to act cool when he is not, from within even he is shaking and breaking and hyperventilating as much as I am.

The lagoon lights skim over him in a slow passion, and the contours of his muscled body against the white tee he is wearing reflect even from afar. I had never seen him shirtless before tonight, rightfully so, but today it evoked something in me, not that I will ever admit it out loud. But it did waver me lightly, and therefore the moment  I was out of his door, I banged my head against the steeled door of the elevator and brought myself to my senses.

Stir away from him and such thoughts, they are wrong on so many levels.

"Noor," He breathes my name, doesn't just utter it. He inhales it and consumes it as a whole. The warmth radiates off his body. his arms wrapping around my body. Pulling me closer, encaging me, binding me, and blinding me.

"I will explain later. In the office, tomorrow, normal time." He offers me this much before pulling back. Leaving me back in the chill void. Confusion swirls, and anger tangoes.

"I came here to surprise you. Hi, Prerna." It's his office tone. The shrewd businessman who eats a brick of etiquette with his morning tea. His voice is polished, his eyes blank and empty. He is putting his fake self before us, the charming illusion.

"This is so sweet. I am so happy for both of you." My sister swoons and she turns slightly towards me, and mutters under her breath, "Come true to him. Relationships cannot be based on lies. I can feel that he genuinely loves you, he won't hold this against your relationship."
