❛ Why are you acting this way? ❜
❛ I feel infuriated.❜
❛ And why is that so? ❜
❛ Because I can't figure out if I should scream at you or have you screaming for me.❜

"So, this is where you brought all your previous boyfriends?"
My husband's voice booms in the huge library, it's laced with the stickiness of envy and possessiveness. He had woken me up with the same tune and forced me to get up early and get dressed as quickly as possible.
We hadn't even gone down for breakfast because my boss wouldn't settle or calm down unless he saw this humongous cave of books.
The scent of old books, the rusty smell of pages and the fresh aroma that floats from the garden inside covers the space. My dad had utilised this empty room to construct a library. It consists of all genres of books, aligned accordingly.
My finger swipes over the shelf, a layer of dust collecting there. It's an indication of how this place wasn't much in use, just cleaned exteriorly and not bothered with the deep cleaning.
With every step I take, there's a sound against the marble floor, a thud that resonates as if announcing my return. The screeching sound of the wooden chair pierces my ear as Kabir strolls around it. Pulling a chair, he sits on it, keenly observing me and the books.
Thewood squeaks against his weight, old enough to not be able to support him. He is resting his face on his palms, which in return are resting on the table. His eyes scanning me, drinking my form in.
Flashes of my past dart before my eyes, the memories are as clear as a crystal ball.
This was my safe haven, I spent major of my time here. Locked in and relishing the beauty of these books. I never enjoyed reading in my room, I would always scoot the chair outside to the balcony that extends from the library. The scenic view of my home's garden provided the best reading experience, topped with a cool glass of iced coffee—perfect.
"Lost in those indelible memories?"
I shift my position so that I am facing Kabir, his cheeks reddened with blazing jealousy. His lips are pressed in an adorable pout.
