Castiel's p.o.v
Throughout the week Dean kept training harder than ever before, and by the end of the week he was up to his ten clips he'd told Cas he would be, proud that he'd gotten there a week early. Gabe stood behind him outside of the range with a broad smile as Dean showed Cas how steady his hand was. Later, at the penthouse that night, Cas was sure to take care of Dean, rewarding him for all of his hard work.
Each day, though, Cas had to spend holed away in his office, taking video calls with his family, coordinating everything they would be doing soon. They'd heard that in light of Monroe's death and Jacob stepping up, that the following Saturday, the whole family would be gathering at their main compound to redistribute the power amongst all the brothers and cousins. So that's when they would move. It would be their best bet to target everyone at once in one place.
He still thought his own family meeting Wednesday was a foolish idea, and he let his thoughts be known on the subject numerous times, but then his dad went out of his way to set up a private call with him, chastising him on trying to get out of it. His father explained to Cas the danger of what they would all be doing and that he wouldn't miss out on one last dinner with all of his children present. So Cas was stuck.
He spent his nights with Dean, though, talking with him, planning with him, and exploring each other. Each night, Cas knew he was falling deeper for Dean. Knew these feelings weren't just surface level, and he could see it with the way Dean looked at him too in their private time together that he felt the same. But they both knew what they would be doing in just a few days was dangerous, one of them might not make it back to the other, so they kept the words they really wanted to say to each other hanging over them.
Currently, it was Wednesday morning. Cas had been awake for a while now, just staring up at Dean from the mans chest. He reached his hand out, running gentle fingers over the collar on Dean's neck, still loving how it looked against his tan skin. He'd noticed last week that Dean wasn't having his nightmares anymore, wasn't calling out throughout the night, and realized Dean really was recovering. Years of living with the shame, the nightmares, his sexual issues, finally resolving. He knew getting this last piece of revenge and putting the whole thing to rest would be the final leg in both their healing journeys. And he wanted to plan something special for the both of them once it was all over. He wasn't sure what it would be yet, but he'd make sure it was extravagant, and he'd finally speak the words to Dean that had been hanging over them for some time now. Their few months together seemed like no time at all, yet it seemed like Dean had always been here. He didn't know how to do anything without Dean taking up his thoughts and his house.
Dean blinked awake, his hand rubbing down Cas' back automatically. They shared a look, and Cas felt that weight hanging over them, that they both wanted more, wanted to say more to each other. But with the uncertainty this weekend would bring, they both held back. They had no problem, though, in the shower showing what they meant to each other. Cas propped up against the wall, his legs wrapped around Dean's waist as the water poured over them. Dean took him sensually slow, kissing every part of his body he could reach while buried inside of him, Cas didn't want it to end.
But they had to face his family, Cas prepping him with facts about his siblings as they dressed to leave. "So Michael will probably be an asshole most of the time tonight. Just don't shy away or back down from him, and he'll like you. Anna will take to you quickly, she likes everyone. Gabe will be making everyone uncomfortable and trying to stir the pot to start an argument for his own entertainment. Alfie will be quiet mostly, but he likes to help Gabriel with his pranks. And dad will act frustrated the whole time trying to keep everyone in line, but he'll also just find everything entertaining to watch as we all inevitably start to bicker."
Dean smiled at him as he buttoned up his dress shirt before catching Cas' hand in his as he went to walk past him. He threaded their fingers together and smiled down at Cas, "Everything will be fine. I'm sure I'll like them and they'll like me. And even if they don't, I don't care as long as you get to keep me."
Cas looked up to Dean, a half smile tugging on his lips. Dean never claimed any type of possessiveness over Cas. He knew with his past he would push against anything like that, and Dean liked being owned by Cas, liked being called his. He leaned up on his toes, pulling Dean by his collar to meet him halfway, before kissing at Dean's mouth, "You'll not be escaping me anytime soon, Winchester." He said as he pulled away, his hand running over Dean's collar.
"I wouldn't dream of it." Dean said, smirking. They made their way to the elevator, hands still interlaced, Cas looking down at their joined hands. With how much Dean has trained and how hard he has worked, there wasn't any difference in strength hardly between his hands now. If it weren't for the scarring still on his left hand, Cas would never be able to guess which was which just by feel alone.
As they stepped out in the parking garage, Cas watched as their two leading vehicles were pulling out. They'd take five vehicles today, two in front, the one Cas, Dean, and Benny would be in, and then two trailing them. Everyone was being extra cautious this week leading up the grand finale of wiping the Styne's off the map, his own men not knowing anything of the plan for Saturday yet outside of Benny. They'd be briefed the morning of, but it was obvious things were being coordinated for something big.
As they made their way for their car, everything suddenly became very loud, the parking garage falling to chaos. Cas was knocked back into a support beam, his hand wrenching out of Dean's as a few cars on their level suddenly exploded. There were shouts coming from every direction and gunshots ringing out. Smoke and debris flying in the air.
Cas was stunned, the back of his head screaming at him as a high-pitched ringing filled his head. He could hardly see anything through the black smoke, the dust flying in the air suffocating him. "Dean!" He coughed out as he stood. He fell back to his ass as the pain in his head throbbed, making his vision tunnel. "Benny!" He shouted out. He sat for a moment, just long enough for his vision to expand again and his head to stop spinning. He opened his eyes, scanning for Dean, but he couldn't see him, and the garage was filling floor to ceiling now with smoke as he coughed out.
Men were yelling about extinguishers. He heard his name shouted a few times, but none of the voices belonged to the person that mattered most right now. Gunshots were still ringing out, and he heard the distinct noise of squealing tires and doors opening and closing before that same squealing noise left out the garage.
Suddenly Benny was infront of him, hauling him to his feet, "We have to fucking move! Now!"
Cas looked him over, he was covered in soot and he was bleeding from a few deep gashes on his head and torso, but overall he looked to be in one piece. "Where's Dean!" Cas shouted over the ringing in his ears from the explosion.
Benny kept pulling at Cas, "In the car Cas, now!" Benny shouted at him as a new suv came into sight.
"He was right next to me, Benny! Where is he! He has to be close!" Cas kept yelling as Benny tore the door open, trying to force Cas inside.
Benny roughly shoved at Cas' arms and legs basically tossing him in the back seat as he climbed in after him, hitting at the back of the front seat signaling the driver to get the hell put of dodge. Cas sat up, twisting his body around to look out the back window at the destruction of the parking garage. It looked like a ruined battlefield. As they rounded the front of the building, Cas could see people from within pouring out the doors to be evacuated.
He twisted back around to Benny pulling his gun from his hip and pointing it at him. "Turn this the fuck around and find Dean." He snapped out.
Benny's eyes went wide to this as he held his hands up. "He's gone Cas, they took him."
