Guys, and girls. You all gentle people. It's New Years and I thought, why not.
Why not just wish y'all a happy and prosperous new year on day 1/366 in 2024?
Right, no reason not to.
So... Let's get right into it-
♥_______________🥳________________♥"Girls! Lunch is ready!" The girls got up from their positions on Wangari's bed. "Okay mum. We're coming."
"Marie, phone." Wangari said. "Oh. Excuse me for a second." Marie said and walked out. "Mum, what do you think about us starting a business? Me and Marie." Wangari asked as she plated her food. "Oh you're thinking about starting a business? What about?" Christa asked her daughter. "Well, we've been doing some research about this and that. We're hoping to have a finalized business plan we can present to potential investors by the end of this month." Wangari said.
"That's great, I'm happy for you. If you need anything, you can ask us, alright?" Christa said. "Thanks mum, I appreciate that." Wangari said. "I'm sorry I've got to go. Craig called and it's an emergency. I'll call you later girl. Bye aunty Christa." Marie said while gathering her things and stuffing them in the bag and walked out. "Bye! What was that about?" Christa asked. "No idea." Wangari shrugged.
"Hey girl, sorry we couldn't finish brainstorming for that plan we had. Craig needed some help." Marie said. "It minor, really. It's all good." Wangari replied. "You got home okay?" Wangari asked. "Yeah. I'm actually about to go to bed." Marie said. "Bytha, what happened with Craig? Anything I can do to help?" Wangari asked. "No, not really. He's not told me what happened but he looks okay physically. But he's drunk out of his mind so-"
A bang was heard in the background cutting Marie off and a guy's voice was heard. 'sorry bout that.' "What was that?" Wangari asked. "My brother is messing around. Gotta go Wangari. Talk to you tomorrow." Marie said and hang up before Wangari could reply. 'that's weird.' Wangari thought but shrugged it off and went back to her study chair to brainstorm more ideas.
Wangari was typing some ideas she'd thought of when her phone pinged.

"Hey cuz." Lily greeted as she knocked on the door. "Oh, hey Lily." Wangari replied turning to look at her. "How've you been? I feel like I've not seen you in like forever and considering we live in the same house, that's weird." Lily said. "Yeah, I've been busy with classes and stuff. I'm swamped." Wangari said.
"You coming to eat with us or?" Lily asked. "No, I already ate." Wangari said. "Okay. Well, I'll see you around." Lily said and turned to walk out of the room. "Yeah." Wangari mumbled and turned to get back to work. "Wait. You know what? I could use a cup of tea." Wangari said changing her mind at the last minute. "Yeah, come on." Lily said with a smile. Wangari had realized she hadn't talked to any of her cousins unless in passing as she left or came in.
"Guys. Look who I found." Lily said as she walked into the kitchen where the dining area was. "Heeyyy. I haven't seen you in forever." "Decided to finally hang out with your uncool cousins." Her cousins Kinney and Will said respectively with mischievous smiles so she knew they were joking.
"Yeah, finally decided to grace you with my presence but look who's talking. We basically come in at the same time almost every night and he says he's not cool." Wangari quipped looking at Will and laughed. "True. I'm cool like that." He said and winked playfully. Wangari took a seat after making a cup of hot chocolate for everyone due to popular demand.
They talked about everything, laughed and teased each other and Wangari found herself thinking that she should hang out more with them.
"So, we were thinking about going for breakfast this coming weekend, you coming with?" Lily said. "Who's we?" Wangari asked looking at all of them. "All us cousins who live near here." Kinney replied. "Ok. Yeah sure. That sounds great." Wangari said.
"You guys. What do you think about having dinner here on Wednesday night? I'll cook." Wangari asked. "Are you serious? I thought you hated cooking." Lily asked. "I'll be here so that's a great idea. Hey, that rhymed." Kinney said with a laugh. "I'm always up for food. Can I bring a friend?" Will asked.
"No Lily, I don't hate cooking, I just don't do it often or like it." Wangari replied looking at Lily. "Oh okay." She said. "And yes Will, you can bring a friend." Wangari chuckled. "Anybody else bringing a friend?" Wangari asked. "No." Lily said.
"Speak for yourself." Kinney said. "So you'll bring a friend?" Wangari asked. "No." "Then why did you tell her to speak for herself? That implies that you don't agree with her Kinney." "I don't agree with her." "Okay but you'll not bring a friend?" "No." "But you just agreed with her. Why- nevermind." Wangari said with an exasperated sigh.
"How many people will be here? We've got you three and Will's friend. I'll invite Marie too. So that's six people. Anyone else? No? Okay. It's settled." They talked for a while until it was almost 1 o'clock in the morning.
"Guys, it's so late and I've got an early morning tomorrow." Lily said. "Same. Good night guys. This was fun. We should do it more often." Wangari said as she rose from the couches where they had moved to after dinner. "Yeah, night guys." "Night." They replied and also started to get up to go to bed.
