Can you recall Freshly in your mind The day your heart broke in two And you were left with useless brittle pieces That would never truly be whole again.
The day your world fell apart When the sun’s bright light began to grow just a little dimmer When the bright stars became harder to see When the moon’s glow passed you by When the rain fell harder as though the world was mourning the loss with you
That day you had to tell yourself to breath The day when you felt as though you heart had been ripped out of your chest And crushed right before your eyes The day your smile disappeared The day you felt like you would never be happy again
The day you had to start fighting a little bit harder The day those horrid thoughts almost won The day you felt truly alone The day you were truly alone The day all happy thoughts were too excruciating to think about
Do you recall Freshly in your mind The day your heart started to heal And those brittle pieces started to piece back together And your heart was almost whole again
The day your world came back together When the sun’s rays shone as bright as they used to When the bright stars became clear once again When the moon’s glow encased you once again And that rainbow appeared, as though it was forgetting the pain with you
The day you no longer had to remind yourself to breath The day you felt like your heart had been handed back to you And mended right before your eyes The day your smile returned The day you felt like you could happy again
The day you no longer had to fight quite as hard The day those horrid thoughts were put on a back burner The day you no longer felt so alone The day you were no longer alone The day you were able to think fondly on those past happy moments
Some days are harder than others Some days make us feel like we will never move on They make us feel like we’re stuck in a loop But those good days will return And our old wounds will heal
