AS THE TWO GOT INTO THE CAR, both kids in the back, William Katz was just locking up the house, before making his way to put Anthea's belongings in the car.
"Honey, I'm sure Grover's told you the most important part of what's going on. And I need you to know that I love you, so so so much, nothing will ever change that." Although the love Thea had for her dad will always be forever, his loving words were putting her uneasy. Whatever is about to happen, her gut feeling was telling her it isn't going to be good.
Mr. Katz started the car and drove out of the small family's home. "When a Demigod has come to age, some earlier than others, they start seeing things, that no one else can see." William tried explaining as best he could to his daughter.
"I've seen it happen to you, do you remember when it happens?" William asked his daughter, still processing what's happening she just gives of a slits nod. Thea remembers many of those little accidents all too well, seeing something one second then the next it's an ordinary object or moving thing.
"There is this amazing camp for demigods, just like you, where you'll train to protect yourself from monsters and the immortal world, it's a safe space, for all demigods." Grover explained to her, as best he could in their rushed times
After his sentence a huge shock wave made its way underneath the car the Katz plus Grover, was in, a huge hole in the sky with a blue ring around it, shooting from behind the car, after a few seconds a massive bird looking creature came flying out of it, shooting straight for the car they were all in, worried looks crossed Grover and Williams face, a bigger shocked look across Anthea's features.
"What the hell is that!" She screamed, petrified, she thought she was dreaming until she pinched herself and the monster was still chasing after their small car. The monster bird thingy was screeching and nearing closer and closer to the car.
"Thea, you need to listen, this is for you, it's a small heart charm, perfect for your charm bracelet, when in need, it turns into a dagger, in case of any trouble." Grover explained to her, as fast as he could trying to quickly attach it to her charm bracelet full of memorable charms from her past, on the girls shacking hands.
"What? What do you mean, how?" She has so many unanswered questions, it was all too fast for her brain to comprehend. By now the monster was mere metres behind their fast traveling car.
"Honey, it's gonna be all alright, I promise." Her dad tried consoling her, much to his avail, which only caused her into more panic, fearing the worst. By now the big bird was quick on their tail.
"Thea, listens, this is going to sound crazy, but you need to believe me. Believe us." Carefully Grover undressed, showing his satyr Legs and took of his beanie, coving his horns. "What is going on, what are you?" Anthea screamed, never in her life had she seen a boy with a goats lower half.
"I'm your protector, what's chasing us down right now would have easily captured you if I hadn't of gone to your father, informing him on everything that's going on." He explained, all this new, extremely wacky information was causing a huge headache for Anthea, only the gods knew how much her life would change and has changed in the last couple of hours.
"Your my protected?" She hesitantly asked, Grover giving her a nod in confirmation.
"Usually I can sense danger coming from a mile away, and luckily I did, otherwise it wouldn't of turned out good." Speeding up the car now, more determined than ever, William was making it his soul job to get his only daughter to camp half blood, when're he knew she'd be safe.
"So you knew, you both knew that I wasn't normal, this whole time and never told me!" Anthea was shocked, a huge lie, about her life, was only now told to her. "How could you even know, I don't understand, and how come no one else on the road is speeding, they all look like they're fine?" She was more confused then ever, silence filled the smaller car till Grover had the courage to speak.
"The mist keeps it hidden from mortals, like your dad, no offence mr. Katz. Without my heads up, your dad would've never been able to help you prepare for this." Their chance of escape from the flying monster was getting slimmer and slimmer, soon they'd all be a monsters three course meal.
"Mist? What mist, what's a mist?" Even more questions came to her, creating a bigger migrane than before.
"The mist. It's a veil that hides the magical world form the human world, my legs, that bird, it can't hide anything from me though." Grover tried to explain the best he could, with the least confusing information her could.
"Something powerful is coming, soon"
"The sooner your at camp, the safer and better off you'll be" hearing that got rid of a few concerns for her safety. Right now Thea just wanted to be at home with her dad, watching a movie and eating popcorn, the gods had other ideas for her instead.
"It's actually not far, just past that bend ways over there." The sooner they were at camp the better.
"What else haven't you told me?" Anthea inquired, wanting to know absolutely everything about the situation they are all in. Just as Thea had asked that question, no one was able to answer her as the big monster bird behind them, caught them, getting a good grip on the car.
The car spun off the ground from the firm force the monster used, looking closely now the creature seemed to be part human? If anything it looked like a woman with wins and horns with black and red scales all over.
The monster threw the car, the people inside went flying, more scared than ever. The monster had some sort of wicked smirk or smile on it face. As the car tooled on the floor William Katz scrambled out to then make sure his daughter and Grover were ok.
"Honey, Thea! Where are you, are you ok?" Questions and the worst came across his mind. Soon after Grover shook Anthea awake before they both crumbled out of the now destroyed car, mumbling and groaning in pain.
"I'm ok dad, just shaken, what is going on though?" They were all in a pretty bad tumble. Grover's anxiety grew by the minute knowing exactly how far away the monster..girl... bird person thingy was.
"Come on we have to keep moving."
Grover took all their hands, mr. Katz holding all of Thea's belongings that they took, which was everything she would need that he could put in one suitcase.
Hurrying them along the grassy path towards the forest on the side of the road. "She's getting closer we have to move. Quickly!" Grover spoke with anticipation, forcing them into a small jog. Hoping and praying to the gods, that they'd make it all the way safely to camp.
