Anthea was now 14 years old, and she had been at camp half blood with Annabeth, Grover and Luke, for 5 years. She's never been closer to both Annabeth and luke, their relationships have evolved into a close sibling bond between the daughter of Aphrodite and the son on Hermes, while the relationship between Annabeth the daughter of Athena and Anthea, was a best friend, type a thingThroughout the 5 years they've all been at camp together, they've helped each other in any way possible. Anthea always there by Annabeth's side when new kids arrived so they could find out if the prophecy was true, and they'd get to embark on a quest to prove themselves to the gods. Or between luke and Anthea, where she would go to him for literally anything other than all the secret girl information she shared specially with Annabeth.
Grover was still Thea's closest friend beside Annabeth, who she knew she could trust and count on, Besides that, they were her family, she doesn't speak about her father anymore, the subject still sore. Anthea was mostly at peace. But not everything can go as smoothly to plan as anyone hoped.
"Thea! Annabeth was looking for you, she said something about a prophecy or something I don't know, but she asked for you!" One of the Hermes kids delivered the news and as soon as the word prophecy was spoken, Thea knew exactly what was happening.
Today could finally be the day they were both waiting for. The day they finally embarked on their journey to glory, where they'd finally be good enough, the best of the best, or maybe Anthea would get the chance to see her dad again, if he still is out there somewhere.
"Hey Annabeth, do you reckon the one is finally here?" Anthea walked up to her best friend. A questioning look glinted in Annabeth's eyes, deep in thought she never realised or acknowledged her question... "huh? Oh yeah, I have a good feeling, wanna start with the stalking now or?"
It was tradition for the two girls to stalk the newbies in hopes of finding the one who will help along the way of their personal quests for glory while they play a bigger role in another huge quest to save the world.
"You bet, Luke tell you anything yet or no?" Luke would do anything for his sisters, getting info on the new kid for the girls was one of them. They all helped each other out, each had their backs.
"Yeah, says he's a short blonde, no one can be shorter than you though." Joking about the Katz girls height was no joke, they all laughed but if anyone other than her family commented on it, her friends would make sure they're six feet under.
"Haha, very funny, your only a few inches taller." A joking frown came across Annabeth's face. They walked in suit towards the training grounds, everyone at camp had been notified that the new kid was asleep, so they had to give him space and not scare the dude. They started picking their battle equipment and got in a fighting stance ready to battle it out, at training.
They started going at each other with brute force, making Luke smile at their progress, nice he turned his back both Annabeth and Anthea smirked at each other before cautiously sneaking away from the training grounds. Luke's back was facing away from theirs, focusing in on another demigod's small battle.
The two giggling girls ran straight towards the nurses room, new kid was still sleeping, as soon as they neared the doors of the room, both their giggles had stopped. Annabeth looked around making sure no one saw them. She waved her hand behind her, signalling for Thea to follow her to the entrance of the new kids room.
They both stared at him, Thea couldn't deny, even if he was asleep, the new kid was cute. His soft blonde curls fell over his face as his chest rose and fell with each peaceful breath. "Does he look worthy?" Annabeth didn't answer Thea's question, she only kept staring at the new kid.
"Let's come back later, hopefully, he'll be awake then, maybe we can question him." Anthea took Annabeth's silence as a yes, they both made there way back to training, hopefully no one noticed they were gone, for a little bit at least.
Thunder was booming, Zeus was probably angry. The had just finished tying her laces, she was getting ready to sneak out, her and Annabeth had planned to sneak up to the nurses room, to do some more digging.
They turned the corner of the building and heard foot steps, immediately they both stealthily hid behind the corner they came from and took quick glances to see if someone was there. After a few seconds the steps retreated from the way they came from.
They tip toed towards the door of the blonde kids room. Anthea poked her head and and saw his blonde curls still lined perfectly on his forehead. His chest rising and falling in sync with his heartbeat. The two demigods walked into the room, and stood at the end of the bed, watching him intently.
As thunder struck the ground near them outside the window, the sleeping boy shook in his sleep. Turning over, Thea grabbed onto her best friends arm ready to tuck them out of sight. They both looked at each other in worry that they might be caught.
"That was too close, Annie" a nervous tone hinted in her sentence they both looked at the sleeping blonde before looking back at each other. "It's ok, just no talking, Thea"
Neither of them catching the out of sync breaths from the boy as his eye lids opened and saw the two of them standing at the end of hid bed, for a short moment. As the girls looked back, his eyes closed.
Having decided that they saw more than enough so far, they quickly ran out of the building. Saying their goodbyes. "Goodnight Annie, see you tomorrow" Thea smiled at her best friend, lucky they had this quest together, neither would want it with anyone else, she loved her best friend, and she loved hers. "Goodnight Thea, see you in the morning."
Each demigod girl walked to their cabins. Both thinking about their successful night.
