Disclaimer: long story ahead?*still a flashback*
Finally arriving in Seoul, you only had one thing in mind: accommodation. Anyone would have guessed that finding a place to live in was the most important thing when it came to studying abroad so it was definitely concerning when you flew over to Seoul without a solid plan. The regret of not asking the school if they had a room in one of the many dormitories they could rent out to you was starting to sink in as you wondered if it was too late to do so now. It probably was and so you started searching for places to live in.
With a stroke of luck, you found a cosy house that was being rented for a pretty decent price although rent was not cheap. Well, at least it was under your budget. Now, all that was left was to find a part time job that you could work during weekends and your free time to earn some pocket money. Of course, your parents gave you some living expenses but it was always nice to have more money. Just in case anything happened.
Taking a tour around your new neighbourhood, you found a poster outside the local convenience store stating that they were looking for part timers. All there was to the job was handling cashiering duties and occasionally resupplying the store’s goods when it was running out. As simple as it got. Though it might be a problem for you to communicate with the customers due to the language barrier, it could not be that hard, right?
Beggars can't be choosers so you immediately went in to fill up an application form and passed it to the worker there. Within a day, they responded and told you that you were able to start anytime you like. Just like that, you found yourself a place to live and a job that was quite easy while paying you a decent wage. Settling in this new country and attending school might not be so bad after all.
Over the course of working, you noticed a certain long-haired girl coming into the store often. Usually, she would show up in the evening but sometimes in the middle of the night. It was hard not to remember her when she always came to you hugging a crazy amount of snacks before releasing them all at one go onto the counter and asking you how much all of it cost. It was definitely none of your business to care about the amount the girl was buying but what alarmed you was how she visited the store each time buying more snacks than before like she had not just bought some few days ago.
Brushing aside the concerning amount of snacks she bought, the girl was really pretty. Even though she always wore a mask and hid her face by either wearing a cap or having her hood up, you could tell solely based on her facial features that she really was. She had the kind of beauty you would not dare approach because of how intimidating she looked and how you felt overwhelmed by her mere presence.
You would run if you could to avoid interacting with her but you were on the job so you did not really have a choice. However, the girl was opposite of everything you imagined her to be. At first glance, she was just like any other pretty girl. Cold with an attitude. That was how she acted when you had your first encounter with her but you could not blame her.
At that time, you were momentarily entranced by her beauty, staring at her the moment she entered the store. You were sure she had people giving her such looks everywhere she went and probably thought you were just one of those people. Of course, she would feel uncomfortable.
After a few more visits from her, the girl started warming up to you and you could tell she was really well mannered and friendly. The girl would always enter the store, putting on a smile that could be seen even though she concealed her face and greeted you without fail. After grabbing the snacks she wanted, she would politely ask how much everything was before paying. Thereafter, she would bow and wave goodbye to you before leaving the store.
The girl was, without a doubt, the best customer you had and the one you had the most pleasure serving. You wished you could get to know her more but honestly, it would have been awkward if you casually asked her whether you could be friends with her and she said no.
