* * *

The air in Jihyo's house was thick with tension, the voices of you and Jihyo cutting through the silence like knives. The other members hovered around, their presence adding to the pressure of the moment. This argument had been brewing for hours, with emotions running high with no end in sight. Jihyo's face was flushed with anger, fists clenched at her sides as she unleashed her frustrations upon you.

"How can you be so selfish, Y/N?" Her words dripped with venom, each syllable a painful jab. "It's always about you, isn't it? You never consider anyone else's feelings!"

You struggled to keep your composure, taking a deep breath to steady your trembling voice. "I'm not being selfish, Jihyo," you countered, barely audible over the rising tension. "You've been avoiding me for weeks. I've tried reaching out, but you shut me out like I'm nothing."

Jihyo's anger flared, her voice escalating with each word. "Because I'm tired of your constant need for attention! You always demand to be the center of everything, draining the energy out of the rest of us! I have my own problems to deal with, you know!"

Her accusations pierced through you like daggers, hitting painfully close to home. She was your best friend, someone you'd relied on for years. But now, it felt like she was tearing you apart.

"Is that what you really think of me?" The hurt in your voice was palpable, tears brimming in your eyes.

Jihyo scoffed, arms crossed defensively. "Isn't it obvious? You only care about yourself."

Her words cut deep, reopening wounds you thought had healed. The pain was raw, and the betrayal was crushing.

"Are you so angry because I'm too selfish for you?" The question hung heavy in the air, your voice barely a whisper amidst the chaos.

"If the shoe fits," Jihyo shot back, her gaze unwavering.

Speechless, the weight of her words suffocated you. She knew you inside out, or so you thought. But now she felt like a stranger, tearing down everything you knew about yourself.

Then came the final blow, her words laced with venom. "No wonder your parents left you. You're always seeking attention, even from them. They couldn't handle it anymore."

The room fell silent, with the other members exchanging worried glances.

"Jihyo, enough!" Nayeon's voice wavered with concern, but Jihyo pressed on relentlessly.

"You're just a lost girl, Y/N," she continued, her voice cutting like a blade. "Unable to handle being alone."

Her words shattered something inside you, dredging up memories you'd buried deep. Tears streamed down your cheeks as you were transported back to the day your parents left.

FLASHBACK

The sound of tires crunching on gravel echoed in your ears as you stood in front of your house, clutching onto your favorite stuffed animal for dear life. Tears streamed down your cheeks as you watched your parents load their belongings into the car, their faces cold and distant.

"Mom? Dad?" you called out, your voice trembling with fear.

Neither of them looked at you as they continued packing, ignoring your presence as if you were invisible. Panic surged through your veins as you realized what was happening. They were leaving, and they weren't planning on taking you with them.
